Did anyone else ring Tesco yesterday and be told that someone would call them abck today?

I'm not really impressed if other people can ring up fresh this morning and order before me.

Obviously, the Tesco staff are holding their phones incorrectly. :rotfl:

I rang yesterday at 9.30am and was told the system is down, and that it'd be fixed by 9am today.

It seems people have been able to order from 9am to 10.30am, because when I rang today at 10.30, I was once again told the system is down and to try at around 1pm!

    Tesco just can't handle it.

Everyone can sit here slagging off Apple and Steve Jobs, but the fact remains that they've sold out everywhere (in the O2 shops anyway) and probably could have sold 10 times as many yesterday.

I till want one, I'll just hold it in my right hand ;-)
I don't think anyone disagrees they are a good phone and most want one, what I think people are concerned about is that there seems to be a batch that have a fault and the answer they require from Apple is "sorry we will replace it with a working model" not some pompous yank saying "Tough you will have to hold it different, why should I replace faulty goods" After all they will only end up having to sort it out when people demand it be sorted under warranty. You can bet the delay in the second batch coming out is due to them having to test them first to avoid this.

  • Argh just had my order cancelled as my credit card company flagged the transaction up as possible fraudulent transaction.

Had to ring Tesco direct(as i had existing order number) i could do that and re-order.

Apparantley this is what is causing problems with Tesco's ordering system. Too many orders are being declined due to card companies flagging up suspected fraud.

Maybe worth a call to your card provider before to authorise the payment

    You're absolutely spot on.

From my perspective, first class phone (ignoring fault) and I want one quite badly but it'd be like getting a brand new car and finding a little scratch on it, or a knocking noise, the lack of perfection when I've forked out a tidy sum would quickly drive me crazy, despite the initial euphoria!

And we also now move into points of principle. I am not having some mouthly arogant American tell me to hold it differently when most people will end up holding it that way. If I had one today (could have joined via Tesco but decided not to) Steve Job's comments would have got right up my snout. In fact they do anyway, but it would be 100x times worse today if I had bought one - he's giving all those suffering with the problem a big 'V' sign! And what's more he suggsting you give him an extra £25 for his 'bumpers'!

Holding it in the opposite hand isn't viable anyway, has anyone tried playing a game with the opposite hand?
