I was on the phone Tesco this morning and was 20 seconds away from completing my order when the system went down. The guy promised to call me back as soon as the system came back. Mmmm.

I called again a few moments ago to be told it did come back briefly but had crashed again. She said there's no time to call customers back if the system crashes in the middle of an order.

"Great customer service" i said. "we're not allowed to" said she. I'm ok with that but DONT PROMISE to call me back then.

She then said they didnt expect the system to be back up until 10am tomorrow.

Amateurs with $*!& customer service.

UPDATE!!! - The guy did just call me back to say he would call me in the morning once the system returns. He said they are not allowed to call but wants his customers to be happy ones. Promising, but, we'll see!!

I can't believe I'm hearing this. As if the system crashing yesterday wasn't disappointing enough already, it's crashed for the second day in a row! Tesco have no clue what's going on. I suspect the same thing will happen tomorrow. Useless.

You would think they'd update their website with information about the system ****ing up, but no. It would even make sense to have an automated response to calls, so that at least we would know the situation and hang up the phone instead of trying to get through for hours. We're left in the dark and the only way to get any sort of information is if you try ringing the constantly engaged number, somehow get lucky enough to get through and be told that the system is down.

PS: Does anyone know an other number for Tesco, other than the 0800 one. I'm charged for that on my mobile, so would like a 01, 02 type number but can't find one. If I could ring on my mobile then it will just keep itself trying until its no longer engaged. Cheers
Go to this site mate and follow the instructions for free 0800 calling from mobiles.

I just phoned my local Tesco store (Bar Hill, Cambridge) and they confirmed they were out of stock.

They said they would be having more in around 2 weeks time - and that all other stores with a mobile phone counter would be getting more at the same time.

They told me to go to the phone-shop.tesco.com website, click the iPhone link, and register my e-mail address to be informed when more become available in-store. I think that's possibly old information though, as I can't find such a form - only the 0800 433 4994 number which is engaged/not taking orders.

Hohum - guess I'll be waiting a while longer...

I must not be a gold customer as all they could do is offer me a worse new contract than i am already one. (Simplicity)

Same as my son, they messed his order up and said they cannot deliver for at least a week but have sent him a recon 32gb 3gs to use until it arrives which he can keep as he was on Blackberry before and that is now cancelled.
