  • Hey. This is basically a log of what I have heard today via my communications with Tesco Staff -_-

I rang up my local store (Stockport Portwood Tesco Extra) and was told they sold out yesterday morning and the woman said the only store with them in stock today was Loughborough (too far from me).

    I rang up 0800 433 4994 this morning at around 11:00 - engaged.

I rang up regularly and eventually got through at around 12:00.

Annoyingly conceited woman (named Rose) said the system was down and to ring back tomorrow morning. However, she then helpfully asked if I'd like her to check the system and tell me any stores in my area that have them in stock. I was pleased to hear 2 stores (Baguley and Oldham) had them in stock! They're both around a half-hour drive from me so I rang up in advance. Neither had them in stock. (And both confirmed Loughborough had some this morning but had likely sold out now). Basically, Rose is a lying !!!!!.

I decided to have a check-up when I got in an hour ago, (17:00) and after about 10 minutes of trying I got through to a man. Here is a transcript of the conversation that took place.
ME: Hi, I was wondering if I could order an iPhone 4?
    TESCO MAN: Yeah, you can.
ME: Really? Oh...*rude guy cut's me off mid-sentence*
TESCO MAN: Just ring back tomorrow morning at 10.
    ME: Okay. Bye.

I'm going to ring back at 10 tomorrow morning.
Failing that my plan is to either wait for 3 to get them in stock and email me, OR get my friend who works at the Apple Store to gimme a shout when they next get them in.

I managed to get my iphone from Tesco Beaumont Leys at about 5pm today... he said he still had about 7 in stock although after I'd finished there was a very long queue (not sure if it was for iphones or not though!)

Edit for anyone who would like the number it's 0116 2067433

for the people who can't get through on the phones, try ringing your local store direct?

You know a tiny bit of clear celotape on the antenna fixes it? :) Hardly a huge issue

Pity that Apple couldn't have designed it properly in the first place.;)

I've been using my phone all day. Not one dropped call or signal problem.

The ONLY time I had it was when I purposely tried to replicate it! It's hardly a big problem.. lol. Blown out of proportion :)

I didn't say it was a big problem, but personally I would not want a shiny new phone that had to have a bit of sellotape stuck onto it to make it function properly.

If you let Apple know I am sure they will sell "ipatches" or "istickies" (attached to the phone with "igloo")to help their customers.
