There's at least one Youtube video where the presenter's voice is definitely in an English accent.

And the metal band is on the outside, with a small gap in the area being discussed, which is perhaps being bridged by the user's hand.
Please read carefully I said most not all affected are americans so obviously there will be some british but on that issue I speak with a british accent but I am not I am Manx being called british is an insult to us. With regards the band, just have a think what I said i.e. some internal parts being incorrectly coated meaning there are breaches meaning the outside parts are being affected by contact instead of being isolated from the radiated signals so obviously it will show that the hand touching these will cause this.

Holding it in the opposite hand isn't viable anyway, has anyone tried playing a game with the opposite hand?
She who must be obeyed would argue with you on that one ;)

    Anyone had this email?

I popped round a tesco today and was told they were all out of stock (saw it on the screen)

    Was not an email

I was on the phone to the supervisor after the useless bint i had been speaking to before had passed me over.

All he could do was keep apologising and saying that no one had an idea what was going on YOU DON'T SAY

Jobs' response is typical of the way Apple fanboys respond to all criticism - "The product is perfect, if you're not happy with it then the fault lies with you".
Surely despite all this they'll be sorting it out for the next batch of phones? Or would that be admitting that there was a fault with the initial batch, and hence result in a recall?

When Apple started sending out faulty iMacs last year, which had a manufacturing defect which would cause the display to have a yellow tinge and flicker uncontrollably, they went into denial mode for weeks, then started to blame their customers' eyes (no, really), before eventually being shamed by widespread media coverage into stopping shipment of the faulty panels and arranging partial refunds for affected customers.

I expect a similar outcome this time - it will take the threat of a class-action lawsuit to force Apple into acknowledging there might possibly be anything wrong with their perfect iPhone, rather than the silly humanoids who are holding it in the non Apple-approved manner.

I was on the phone Tesco this morning and was 20 seconds away from completing my order when the system went down. The guy promised to call me back as soon as the system came back. Mmmm.

I called again a few moments ago to be told it did come back briefly but had crashed again. She said there's no time to call customers back if the system crashes in the middle of an order.

"Great customer service" i said. "we're not allowed to" said she. I'm ok with that but DONT PROMISE to call me back then.

She then said they didnt expect the system to be back up until 10am tomorrow.

Amateurs with $*!& customer service.

UPDATE!!! - The guy did just call me back to say he would call me in the morning once the system returns. He said they are not allowed to call but wants his customers to be happy ones. Promising, but, we'll see!!

Hi - do you have a number for Tesco's the one I have seems to be constantly engaged or they just hang up....

As this isn't affecting every iPhone, it would appear that it is an issue on some handsets rather than a generic design failure.

The sensible thing for Apple to do would have been to acknowledge that some users are experiencing problems and offer them a replacement device if they went to the store they bought it from and demonstrated the issue.

By coming out with the hold it differently line and then the it happens on all phones statement, they appear to be telling their customers with problems to live with it. This is very poor service in my opinion.

Whether you like them or not, Apples PR are normally very good, but in this case they have really dropped the ball. Had they offered a solution they would have probably come out of this better than they now are doing. This is not just on tech websites, but global news channels etc; every time someone reads these statements without Apple coming out with a more viable solution they are going to suffer.

Although their history has been for slow responses when there have been issues, such as the iMac, I expect them to come out with a different line very soon as they can't afford for this to go on much longer without really damaging their reputation.

PS: Does anyone know an other number for Tesco, other than the 0800 one. I'm charged for that on my mobile, so would like a 01, 02 type number but can't find one. If I could ring on my mobile then it will just keep itself trying until its no longer engaged. Cheers

I believe it comes with a Polish accent and uses the word Giro instead of wage :p
