Took 3 phone calls and 20 minutes on phone but eventually got offer as above. Also found the letter some guy wrote and got his money back when e2seven went bust on the adsl guide.Iwill try and do a similar thing
Thank you very much 0_t_e. Maybe some light at the end of tunnel.0 -
If it helps, I'm with AOL on the £9.99 plan and the download speeds are brilliant - I'm getting a steady 120kb/sec and I'm only on 1MB. It rocks. Could be a blessing in disguise!
You could try and squeeze a router out of them too0 -
Is this aol offer only for euro1net customers then?0

Hi - as Joffy's last comment indicates it's not even a formal offer for Euro1net customers; I believe the only formal £9.99 offer they have is for existing AOL customers but if you are persitant like Joffy you may find that if you keep asking for £9.99 you will get it. That said I think it can't hurt that with the former Euro1net customers AOL know that any required engineering work on the line/exchange has already been paid for by Euro1net.0

Just phoned aol and they offered me the £9.99 straight off with no connection fees and also including the usual hw/sw...
Can use as soon as it comes through the post.0 -
I signed up for 9.99 deal first call too, no problem :j . Also got a form sent to me from the credit card company to claim outstanding euro1net cash.
If anyone knows where I can find all the settings I need so I can avoid loading AOL's software I would appreciate it.

Hi - from reading around it seems like very few settings need to be changed within the control panel for the router; taken from uk.telecom.broadbnd on googlegroups:
"Have a Netgear Wireless Router which
keeps me logged in without the need to use the AOL software
Found the service very good but you do need to get your own email and
newsgroups but that is very easy to do.
The only thing I had to do to set-up without the AOL software was to store
the screen name and password with the router via the web control panel and
change the MTU size to 1400. Once I did that it came straight on."
There are other posts there in this vein.

Just a quick note to say that I signed on with Newnet yesterday and I have a 8mb connection as of this afternoon!
They have excellent reviews and customer feedback at adslguide.org.uk.

I joined E1net in Feb on 2 year contract at £240. Paid by CC so hopefully will get a refund for my unused portion. I have just signed up with UKonline at £9-99 per month for 1mb service (LLU).Anyone joining AOL just needs to be aware that they do not support Xbox online gaming. Other than that it does seem to be a good deal.0

Everybody seems to be saying avoid AOL software
