I think people are now being locked out of their accounts so they cannot take copies of payments, dates etc which will be needed to make credit card claims

You can currently log in to your account if you want to get a copy of your invoice - also get a copy of your start and finish date.

They won't be giving out any MACs, so add the cost onto your credit card claim. (You may have to pay a connection fee when you are able to join another bb). Better to wait and see what your full costs are before claiming.

Also claim the difference if it is going to cost you more to get a similar set up with a new ISP as it will be hard to find another unlimited 1 meg bb with a static address for less than £10 a month.

I didn't think you could claim the difference. I think they'll only provide for loss of service what you have paid to Euro1Net and lost.

Claiming the difference between what you were paying and what a new ISP will charge I assume would be classed as compensation (ie compensate you for the difference between what the ISPs charge). Credit card company themselves are not liable for that (as far as I'm aware) just for what you have actually lost. I would have thought you'd have to put in a claim against Euro1Net to claim something like that but as they owe money then the chance of winning and getting paid the compensation is next-to-nothing!

If a company breaches a contract. You are allowed to claim for any unused part of your payment, plus any additional costs you incur in setting up another service to the same level. This definately means the minimum extra you can claim is the connection fee if you pay for a new service instead of migrating.

The credit card companies do seem to process these claims with varying results.
There is a long thread over on Adslguide which lists many people's experiences concerning claims made following on from the e7even crash.

It is quite clear that simple claims, just claiming for outstanding money due, were settled much quicker than claims which also included *extras*.

Also some companies seem to be notoriously slow to settle any claims.
    It makes fascinating reading.

saw the article in the metro about it! not good.
  • Am I the only one whose Euro1net 1mbps broadband service is still working? I migrated from talktalk to Euro1net in July and it's been a superb service (talktalk were just awful). I have a euro1net.broadband login rather than euro1net.com. Should I just keep my head down and hope it carries on working, or should I ask for a MAC now? Any advice gratefully received!

Euro1net have been supplying their customers using two different broadband suppliers. BT Wholesale (whose customers have just been disconnected), and an LLU service (which is still going).

BT says that they've disconnected Euro1Net customers because the company haven't been paying the bills. This has been going on since at least early June.

Euro1Net say that this is not about money (they say they have the money to pay), but they've stopped payments because of a dispute over the contract.

It's difficult to know who is right so far, although one of the founders of ADSLGuide did mention that when a company is having a contractual dispute, there is normally a whisper of this on the BB company network (behind the scenes). He says there has been no sign of this in this instance.

There is a remarkable similarity to what is happening here to the E7 situation(another ISP that has just folded). First all the BT wholesale lines were switched to smaller (various) suppliers. Then the company stopped supplying BB completely (without any warning to its customers). The pricing structure of both E7 and Euro1Net were also practically the same.

Euro1Net say that they have money to continue. Nobody knows yet whether they have or not. They are surely going to have to find a lot of money to refund all the unused subs for all the customers that were cut off (over 5000 customers).

It's difficult to say whether it's best to continue with your working connection, or to start looking around. Euro1Net may be able to keep part of their network going (the part you are on), but this move with BT Wholesale does look very bad (and possibly the first signs of a company going under). If your connection is important to you, I would start looking around. If the company does fold, you may be without a connection for a few weeks.

Hi guys, well I'm finally back on, NTL cable broadband has been installed today and my BT line will be cut off soon as I'm gonna use VOIP.

I have spoken to my credit card company and they said to put it all in writing and send copies of emails etc. so we will see what happens next, said I should get an initial response in 7 days.
  • I am one of the unlucky ones that have found out by my experiance of e7even, That ofcom is a toothless tiger. (e7 who also crapped on its customers from a great height, and got into trouble leaving ppl with no bb service and no easy way of sighing up a new bb service)

However i think the situation with euro1net may be diferent, why? well so far they HAVE said they will give details on how to get a refund (unlike e7 who just ignored every1 for months)

But i think euro1 may have deliberatley done this to save face! how you ask?

well 3 weeks after i signed up with them, they introduced a new offer - phone and 8M internet for virtually the same price i had just paid for 1M bb service only. they of course said they would post details of how existing customers could sign up the the new service, but of course so far they never have.

could this be a crafty way of getting all the euro1net customers to have to re-sign up to their new phone and BB service whilst making out that BT are actually the bad guys.

since it seems that so far ONLY their other customers are unaffected (talk-talk equivelant)

granted BT SHOULD have warned euro1 customers . i only found out today about this situation after spending hours scratcing my head, wondering why my bb didnt work ( after id been on holiday)
, and cheking my hardwares (I certaily got NO page from BT telling me any information-nice 1 BT u boloxed up yet again)

after spening time on BT fualt finding service, where they (from india) tell me that there is NO problem my adsl should be working.

I eventually pick up the phone and pay £1 a min to euro1's premium rate helpline, to be given a pre-recorded message about another kent fiasco (e7 was kent based).... now i know why the kent logo (invicta) has a horn on its head, and where it gets shuved. namely up every1 elses **** spose i'll just have to grin an bear it

then i phone up BT customer diservice, who tell me that, they dont know anything about it, wait a mo, ohh one of their staff has seen it on a bbc website about euro1 dispute with BT. Pitty i cant go to the bbc website i told the nice man at BT customer diservice.

NICE 1 BT you even keep your staff infomed (not) good job the BBC news service is available to their staff, maybe thats how they will find out they have been fired, and 1000000 indian opertives have their jobs now

Time will tell as to what is going to happen with euro1, glad i payed by CC again, and kept my trusty 56k modem safe. i know exactly what i need to do now

    WAIT AND SEE!!
