The only way i can get online is dial up then.I used to be on bt payas you go befor i got euro1net broadband. The computer is used quite a lot so pay as you go could be quite pricey until september the 5th.If i go to fast 4 net and pay £4.99 for a month , this seems a good option. Can you pay for just a month ? and will that cause problems when i need to reconnect to broadband in 2 weeks ?0

Read the Network Status page for info from Euro1net
If your line is being ceased then no MACs are possible!
Keep up with things over on Adslguide here

I think people are now being locked out of their accounts so they cannot take copies of payments, dates etc which will be needed to make credit card claims

As ceases of broadband is taking place MAC's are not applicable as there is no service to migrate0 -

I like the bit where Euro1Net say there are considering suing BT. Excuse me, but Euro1Net are the ones who have failed to pay BT . I think if anyone is going to do any suing, it will be BT.What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

see www.fast4.net do dial-up with no long term contract
http://www.fast4.net/_files/dial.asp
An ideal choice if you are unable to get broadband in your area and need unlimited internet access anytime, day or night. Our unlimited dial-up package allows you to surf the Internet for a small, single monthly payment of only £4.99. We don't place restrictions upon your usage and our connection is through a 0808 freephone number so there are no call charges either. The service has no long contracts and you can be surfing the web within minutes!
Freefone Sign-up Line

9am-5pm, Mon-Fri.
Am I tied into a specfic length of contract?
Our dial-up service is provided with a no contract term. ADSL contracts are standard with one year. Cancellation for dial-up and ADSL accounts must allow 28 days notice and can only be done from within your customer members area
so sign up and post notice almost straight awayEx forum ambassador

If they can't afford to pay BT then it is looking unlikely that refunds will be issued. They may just file for bankruptcy.
For those that paid via credit card, I'd start the ball rolling with your credit card company if you can although you may get told to wait until Euro1Net actually file!
I obviously don't know exactly what has gone on but I think why Euro1Net have said they may take legal action against BT could be because maybe BT could have just stopped people from accessing the internet rather than cut the whole domain off and thereby meaning MAC's can't be generated/issued to help customers migrate to another ISP.
Although this really all comes down to Euro1Net repeatedly not paying their BT bill!
As for Ofcom investigation then that's just a waste of time as they are useless when it comes to helping us consumers.0 -
Its good that this is getting some media coverage now, however i really dont see what an Ofcom investigation will do when its a financial dispute between the two parties.0

quite right ofcom is very useless. I understand from the phone message on when you call ofcom is that euro1net is not a member of any organisation hence the chances of getting any money back is slim. good luck to me though as I did sign up for 24mths contract in Jan2006 and was the first to call ofcom and report the problem when it happened but as I acn see all my efforts in vain to call them as they arent seem to be doing anything.0
