After driving up the A1 to newcastle yesterday I would fully agree with the Op, I timed one overtaking move yesterday at 4 mins!!! hence holding up traffic in lane 2, as the trucker could manage .25 MPh faster than the other trucker crazy!!!0

Idiot there are very few caravans on the road normally unless its holiday period. They are also not restricted to 56 mph like lorries are so should move faster.
But they are limited by law to 60mph on Mways and dual carriageways.
Anyway, as you say, there aren't many of them in comparison to HGVs.0 -
Ohhh, we're on caravans now!
Let me know when it turns to horse boxes“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

I think harvey is a Jeremy Clarksole wanabee.
Situation:
3 lane or even 4 lane motorway, asthmatic tanker, wide load, heavy load, frieght train, or a missed gear?
Do you guys really want to confine HGV's to single file, maybe motorways should be for freight only?, we'd all be glad for exclusive use of the outside lane then?;):T:A:p:p:p.I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -

Horseboxes! :mad:They annoy me even more than caravans! You can't corner a horsebox at more than 5mph in case the stupid nag falls over. And the owners too - they think horses are more beautiful and should have more rights than people.:D

Quality post. That's my mutt in the picture above.0 -
I would go the whole hog, ban trucks from motorways completely, make them drive on A & B roads through the night, in fact you could probably take it further and only allow them on the roads at weekends, stale bread is lovely toasted, the motorways would be much clearer as the car drivers would have run out of petrol by Wednesday.:rotfl:
I propose that all cars are fitted with speed limiters set at 68mph and that anyone caught taking their fat kids to school in a car should be banned from driving for life.My names not Bill but I am from Beverley0 -
Do you morons actually understand HGVs at all. How many accidents due you think its is going to cause when you have a massive tail back of trucks when idiot car drivers cannot judge the distance to a junction and cutt straight accross the front of a truck or when stupid car drivers cannot match the speed on priority traffic when entering the motorway.
Or how about when the truck in front is fully laden approaching a steep hill slowing the whole que of traffic behind it down.
Without truck drivers this country would come to a stand still and its about time people started realising this and engaged their brains before posting such stupid things.0
