This update includes incorrect information....Tom_Vodafone wrote:17) When will I be notified of these changes taking effect?
There are no price changes – we’ve always said in our Ts&Cs that customers will be charged out of bundle (see our terms and conditions) .
I am not disputing that the Terms and Conditions state that we will be charged for 'excessive' use. What I am disputing are the charges. It has been stated before that there was no charging structure for out-of-bundle charging.Tom_Vodafone wrote:There isn't currently a standard rate published
Therefore, the charging structure of £5 per additional 500MB is either a new or an increased charge. As such there is most definitely a change being made.

[Reposting myself from VF thread, if this gets deleted]
Reading the TOM_VODAFONE announcement once again, I am really not sure about the point # 15. So I read it twice and then again.
What I understand from the point in plain English is that there was no charge for going over 500MB internet, when I took out my contract in 2009. So in this post dated 11/05/10, Vodafone has announced a new charge in post # 2 to clarify this.If I am not too disillusioned, this is a new charge, since none previously existed.Correct me if I am wrong.SAY NO TO INJUSTICE !

Just got off the phone with vodafone for about the fiftieth time!
I was told last Friday by a rep that i can cancel my contract as a direct result of these 'changes'. I informed her that i had canceled my DD and would be keeping the phone. She said that was all fine, confirmed this information to me TWICE and that i should phone back in 48 hours to recieve my PAC code.
I recieved a text this morning with my PAC so i thought i'd better speak to them again today to confirm what is going on. I spoke to a manager there who again confirmed to me that i can cancel my contract WITHOUT paying and early termination fee on the proviso that i return the phone to a vodafone store. I disputed the fact that they are allowed to take the phone back and said i would double check the contract to that effect. He assured me that this would be added to my notes and to call back if i have any more issues related to this. In hindsight i wish i had recorded the phone calls and got the full names of the people i spoke to.
I forgot to tell them that i would be paying any outstanding usage by cheque so thought i'd better phone back just to make sure we are all clear on things. After once again being passed on to a manager to my complete amazement he told me that i would not be able to end my contract without paying the ETF.
WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON THERE???
I am so angry at Vodafone now and their complete lack of customer service skills. They obviously pick and choose what notes to add to peoples accounts in order for an easy life!! I want the 2 people i spoke to held directly responsible for this and i'm not going to back down or give this up now.
Can anyone here help me to confirm where in the T&C's it states that the 'equipment' is the property of the customer?I am looking to get out of my contract because the introduction of these new charges will cost me significantly more each month. Based on my bill dated 14th May, these charges would have increased my bill by £20 - more than 47%.
Ownership of the handset is a different matter, which I haven't looked into in great detail as yet. The T&Cs state:
Note use of the term your mobile device. This would infer that the device is owned by the consumer, not Vodafone. This is also in line with previous statements from Vodafone which go along the lines of "the handset does not form part of the contract", so terminating the agreement does not in any way mean that Vodafone have any right to demand the handset be returned.

It seems that the equipment belongs to the user. I guess they just accept it back as payment for the early cancellation fee...
Why don't you try this... Install call recording software on your phone. Call them up over and over again until one of the idiots says you can cancel without paying the fee.
Delete the recordings stating you can't, and stop calling them back. The last call you had with them said you could and you now have the evidence.
Also, remember to tell them you're recording!!!!
EDIT: In fact: maybe everyone that hasn't already cancelled should do this. You also need to bare in mind, every call and email they reply to costs them money...0 -

You're dealing with a company that says one thing and does another. ALWAYS record your phone conversations with Vodafon and get the reps name on the recording.
Even then it dont mean anything. I recorded them making me a contract offer that they later claim does not exist.
Lifes too short to be dealing with this !!!!!. Not over a consumer gadget.0
