From what vodafone have been saying you'll get a couple of texts again next month and then it will be the following month that they contact you...
Will wait for them to contact me and see if I can get out of the contract on the 10% rule.
Been following this from the start, keep up the good work everyone:TWins:
Mar 23 - Ridge WalletMar 23 - Blackpool family trip
Dec - Klean Kanteen water bottle
Nov - TWS1 Edifier headphones0 -
I had 3 txts last month, already had 2 this month, still no contact yet though. Usage last month was 1.6gb this month so far its 1.2gb (until 10th of next month).
They think they are going add £15 on my bill? lol0 -
If I dont read it incorrectly, VF will send me 2 text messages each month (perhaps after 500MB, and then 1GB) for a total of 2 months, and then call me personally during 3rd month, if I still carry on abusing the service to offer me different options?SAY NO TO INJUSTICE !

'abusing the service' lol! anyways, yeah they'll give you a ring, and if your bill has gone up by over 10% you can actually terminate your contract, keep your phone and go on a cheaper tariff with someone else! Alternatively get another phone, sell it and use the money to get DECENT data packages.0 -
Something like that. My current understanding is that they will inform you of your use over 500mb, and continue to warn you, but only once you are informed that you will be charged for continued 'excessive' use will you then be charged if you continue.
At that point you are being given 14days notice of charging applying, and then you can apply to cancel without penalty. If you do this by requesting your PAC code and transferring your number elsewhere you could well be away from Vodafone within days.0 -
Posted this elsewhere to do with my ongoing Vodafone debacle; The 25th of June has come and passed now - Lee has as promised double checked to make sure that my bills are correctly at the amount of £35 a month with a 50% retentions discount so £17.50.
I was promised an offer of goodwill, and after unfortunately missing a call last week i then received answerphone message, then an email saying that as a goodwill gesture my account balance had been taken to £0.00. This was effectively a credit to my account of £17.50.
It was applied already, and my bill was correctly at ~£17.50 - but i did email back to say that i thought that this was not really acceptable as what i understood to be a final offer of goodwill.
I had been offered £20 very easily over two months ago when i first seriously challenged the problems with my incorrect billing amount - but this was a final offer of £20, and did not include the correction of £2.50 a month (or £45 over my 18month contract) - rightly i refused that £20 offer two months ago as i wanted my bills to be correct.
That after dealing with 191 staff repeatedly to correct my account being incorrectly billed every month, and then the Vodafone Directors office for a series of calls and emails, only to find that the promised changes to my account having not been applied, and then again speaking with Tom and then Lee from the Vodafone Webteam - frankly i thought that a months free line rental totallying £17.50 was laugahble given the time and trouble to get this matter dealt with, especially given the forthcoming data charges for which i am receiving notification texts that i am over the 500mb limit!
I emailed Lee last Friday, and today after speaking to him on the phone and expressing that i am not happy and trying to explain why the offer has been changed to a further £20 - so £37.50 in total for the whole cockup.
This is a far more reasonable offer, but i am not going to decide if i will accept this.
I have been trying to be as polite and reasonable all along, and have asked that i received the same treatment. I'd hope that a level of respect would be given - i have not tried to barter back and forth to negotiate an agreed settlement, i've simply expected that after considering all the details of my account and mistake after mistake being made that Vodafone would come to me and make an offer that they think is fair.
Lee has rightly pointed out to me that this is a voluntary offer by Vodafone. It is a gesture by them, a token if you will.
If so then why £17.50, why then so readily increase it by £20 (a figure i happened to mention - perhaps i should have mentioned £30, or £40, or...you get my drift).
If it's worth £37.50 to Vodafone to keep me as a customer 'happy' - why come back with £17.50
I don't think i could have stressed more how unhappy i have been with the way i have been treated and how i have had to keep on at Vodafone to get the simplest of things done and not ignored.
Going to have to have a cup of tea and think about it. Totally farcical situation to have gone through. It's undermined all the faith i had in Vodafone for several years. I recommended people use them, now it's more i'll recommend that people avoid them
I have now been told that any charges applied so far are a mistake, that anyone who has been let out of their contract without penalty is a mistake, nobody has been charged yet and it's still not clear who will be and when.
Part of me thinks oh just take the £20 credit, it'll mean that i've had two months free line rental, with any luck within another couple of months Vodafone will try and charge me for mobile internet, at which point i will leave without penalty.
Should i ever risk being a customer of theirs again it will only be because of an utter bargain, though it would have to be to deal with their CS staff again!0 -
I also originally phoned to increase it to the 1gb limit but they told me i would loose free mins.
I then posted on how to go to 1gb limit on the vodafone eforum, but several people replied quickly and told me not to upgrade as this will make me unable me to cancel if i get charged.
Then within 10 mins, vodafone moderators removed the thread, i guess they dont want people to know about it.0 -
My thread on the VF eForum got deleted too, so I reposted the same question on MSE... so far no answer from the Voda reps lol

Its best to stay on the current 500mb tariff as this will give us a get out clause to leave vodafone who have really poor customer service.
I was talking today to a vodafone rep on the phone today regarding poor signal coverage in my area and i brought this topic up.
At first he said that i nobody can cancel as they have gave 30 days notice about the changes. I said to him thats ok, but its the other term "10% increase" T&C will be broken if i get charged. And as im paying £25 a month and get charged the £5, this results in a 20% increase.
He then acknowledged this and tried talking me into moving to the 1gb plan but i left it.0
