I suspect that no one will actually be charged in the short term and that this is a ploy by vodafone to get some users at the far end of the download spectrum to self regulate which may have the effect of 'freeing up' bandwidth so I wouldn't hold out much hope of a straight forward response. I have a friend who absolutely hammers his unlimited internet to the tune of around 20gb a month (bizarrely not by tethering or downloading?!?!) He's neither complained nor received any warning texts, we've decided between us he should do nothing to alert vodafone that he's aware of any changes to his plan and wait to see if he gets treated any differently to me.
I will of course keep this thread updated with any developments...0 -
Be good to know as so far I've had 5 text messages this month to call customer server to change my plan. Since the last text message, I've downloaded approx 2gb more data and no more text messages.

Av now used over 4 gig of data and only recieved a text to change my plan when i had hit 0ver 500mb and 1 gig but funny enough after that av been canning it without any more texts, and i wont stop. Meanwhile av got an email, from the director,s office saved on a couple of places for "extreme safe keeping", informing me i wont be charged if i go over but will be notified first of possible charges and should i continue to go over then chages will apply at which point i will be able to leave based on the 10% rule so am not complaining at the moment. Might try and emulate the other chap above who hits 20 meg, to see how it goes happy browsing everyone.0

I could easily use 500mb in an afternoon... I regularly use 10GBs+ in a month with T-Mobile.I shot a vein in my neck and coughed up a Quaalude.

It's such a no mans land right now. New customers have it absolutely clear when they will be charged, but this alteration to existing customers means that i have to agree with people willingly abusing the service, using more data than they would normally - to precipitate Vodafone into charging them.
If Vodafone want to stop this then release to all customers the specific details. If there is a change of contract then people can get out with no penalty, if no change then they can't charge people. They are making a rod for their own back by all this mucking about.
I was in contact with the directors office initially, off the back of another customers services debacle, but for the last ~1month i have been dealing with the webteam.
Is there any advantage to dealing with the Directors Office. I actually found them to be less capable of successfully doing anything that the directors office, and both them and the webteam agreed that the like of Tom Rushton were privvy to things in the pipeline that the Directors Office weren't.0 -
Personnaly i would stick with the CEO as they tend to do more and get the ball rolling rather than customer services0

So who else here has asked Vodafone about how many texts over what duration before charging? It looks like just me and one other person at the moment, the more people the better in this case.0
