In response to Matt, I totally understand your frustrations, Ive had problems with Vodafone. I bought the HTC Desire on their contract and it had stated on there that my agreement was £40 (£20 after redmption). My allowance is 1200 minutes plus unlimited texts but my bills are always over £50.... plus I get billed VAT when its suppose to be inclusive of the price. I havent used over 1200mins a month but it seems i am being billed for phoning certain networks also that unlimited texts does not include picture messages!! Ive had such bad experiences with Vodafone. Their website is not useful at all it seems when you have a complaint or a query they dont want to help you at all. I had my mobile just over a month and lots of problems started happening, no service in my house, screen freezing error messages coming up and saying number doesnt exist when I phone a valid number.... I was a few days over the 28day period which meant I had to get it repaired rather than replaced. They give you a replacement phone whilst yours is being fixed which was totally useless, I couldnt even hear the replacement phone ring it was so low (and yes it was turned up fully). I wish I could get out of my contract ive only had my phone 3 months and its on a 24month contract!!! Any idea anyone how much it would cost to buy out of the contract that youve only had for 3 months? I dont mind paying a big some just to get rid of vodafone.... my daughter had a vodafone pay as you go mobile I made her change it. ive been with Vodafone for years I cant wait to go back to t-mobile!0

I would suggest you hammer the mobile internet if you are on 'unlimited' and wait for them to notify you they want to charge you, at that point you are then able to cancel.
If you want to cancel now and dont mind paying the early termination fee id guess that is however: many months you have left x your line rentalTESCO EVERY LITTLE change to the t&cs HELPS0 -
i recieved a txt yesterday saying that i,ve exceeded my 500mb allowance, but i wont be charged, looks forward to the day i get charged so i can leave, dont know how they can treat their customers like this and expect us just to sit back n accept their changes, is it true that if you cancel due to the 10% increase in your bill you get to keep the phone? as i know some have cancelled and theyve been told to send mobile back, so not 100% altho i think i read it in terms n conditions once, assuming thats not been removed from their terms aswel0

erm im not sure but I have heard so many times on forums that you do get to keep the phone. I dont think they would print it in their terms & conditions thou as they are very unhelpful as it is....NittyGritty wrote: »i recieved a txt yesterday saying that i,ve exceeded my 500mb allowance, but i wont be charged, looks forward to the day i get charged so i can leave, dont know how they can treat their customers like this and expect us just to sit back n accept their changes, is it true that if you cancel due to the 10% increase in your bill you get to keep the phone? as i know some have cancelled and theyve been told to send mobile back, so not 100% altho i think i read it in terms n conditions once, assuming thats not been removed from their terms aswel0

I have asked the Director's office how many texts over what duration will be sent before a person is charged. As a couple of people mention on this thread they suspect if Vodafone thinks you will try to cancel without penalty they will avoid charging you, which from what I can interpret is an unfair and unlawful practice.
Therefore it is in our interests to find this info out. They have now stopped emailing me I think in the hope I will go away, and are now ignoring all my enquiries.
Can I make a suggestion everyone here emails Vodafone to tell them they obviously must have a policy a person receives a certain number of texts over a certain duration before being charged, and what exactly is the detail of that policy (exactly how many texts over how long will a customer get before being charged)?
If we all do it someone will get an answer, then if anyone is not charged we can publicly identify if Vodafone are singling certain customers out.0 -

Great idea, I am a little busy at work right now, but definitely do it, if you could put a template email stating the same. CheersSAY NO TO INJUSTICE !

Vodafone,
The changes you have made recently for data usage means you will be charging customers after you have made attempts to warn them they have exceeded their data limit and tried to contact the customer to discuss their use.
To ensure all customers are being treated on a level playing field you will need to have defined how many times and over what duration a customer will be notified (or warned) before they are charged. I am keen to know the exact number of texts and calls over what timespan a customer will receive for exceeding data limits before they are charged to ensure I am being treated in line with all other customers.

Here's what I have sent;Director's Office,
Vodafone UK,

The changes you have made recently for data usage mean that you will be charging customers after:- you have made attempts to warn them they have exceeded their data limit and,
- tried to contact the customer to discuss their Internet usage.
