So you've moved to a 1gb plan, lost your unlimited texts - instead of sticking with what you had and having a get out clause if they try and charge you? Not an option i would have chosen!0

I didnt change in the end, no way was I losing anything else .0

I guess that's always something lol. Has removing it made any significant impact to your data use at all? Oh and the thanks should go to the person who posted that info on the VF eForum - I'm just passing it along! My phone isn't running Android so...
MASSIVE difference, it was Sky News, I haven't used 500kb today doing usual things, and my battery has lasted 30 hrs instead of 10!0 -
Got my second text yesterday. Can actually say I havent tried to go voer my limit intentionally (its only been 2 weeks since last text) but due to world cup i've been streaming bbc five live a bit. Nevertheless I've went over in a short amount of time.0

You won't have lost texts; check with the team by mailing them; I got confirmed that texts ARE included (as unlimited) but are added in manually, so don't show up on the account screen. Naturally, I'll keep an eye on it.
Interestingly, I've been told I won't get charged 'immediately' for exceeding the 1GB tariff I'm now on, neither have I had a change of contract notification (letter or email) so I've got a 1GB FUP, and if I go over *that* then I can walk away. So I think I had a good deal - although I'm sure I won't use more than 1GB on normal usage!---reech!

Just been thinking about all the unlimited fair use policies etc
Unlimited Landline minutes 3000 minutes = 50 Hours Use
Unlimited Texts 3000 (1 per minute used)= 50 Hours Use
Unlimited Mobile Internet = 30 Minutes Use.
Internet use based on downloading a single file of 500mb size based on my average connection speed of 1.5mbps0 -
Just had a call from vodafone retentions, just a pity i was too busy to take it, that would have been fun.TESCO EVERY LITTLE change to the t&cs HELPS0

I've just had a conversation with a supervisor at Vodafone, discussing the out of bundle charges and how the introduction of £5/500mb is going to disadvantage me by £5-£10/mth.
His position was that Vodafone have always had out of bundle charges of 50p a day for 25mb + 50p per 10mb after that. And that Vodafone have never charged it, out of a "goodwill gesture".
He agreed that the £5 per 500mb for exceeding your bundle was a new charge, however since they SHOULD have been charging me the old rate before, the difference between what I should've been charged on the old rate, and what I will be charged on the new rate, will prevent me from terminating my contract (as per this announcement:
http:// forum.vodafone.co .uk /forum-53/announcement-137-updated-mobile-internet-charging/
- because I won't have been disadvantaged!
I did not point out that the previous charges he mentioned were for price plans with no data bundle included. I'm not sure whether the staff at Vodafone are just ill-informed about their own services, or (more likely) they're trying to do everything they can to obscure and discourage people from their right to cancel when Vodafone do start charging.
He also refused to accept that Vodafone were doing anything wrong to customers by changing terms/introducing new rates in the middle of a contract.
Either way, I'm disgusted at Vodafone for this, and I'm currently testing out a new O2 Simplicity smart-phone sim for £15/mth over 12mths which provides 300min/unlimited texts/truly unlimited data. Only available until 23rd June I believe when O2 change their price plans, so if you want one then act soon.
Vodafone are taking the mickey in my opinion.0 -

I think we can safely assume that vodafone are going to make it as difficult as they can for people to cancel (even those that are disadvantaged by more than 10%) by recycling bad information and hoping we give up. The guy I spoke to in their Hellmand Province call centre repeatedly informed me that the £5 for 500mb out of bundle charge had been part of vodafones price plans since Jan 2009..!0 -
The guy I spoke to in their Hellmand Province call centre...
Quietly p*ssing myself at work after reading that!
In terms of people moving to the 1GB plan, Voda warned you may lose discounts etc alrady on your plan. I'm on a £40 plan with the Desire, with a 50pc discount running the length of the contract.
Now obv its not worth me switching to 1GB if they turn round and say ok, but you'll have to pay £40 now instead of £20...so just wondering if anyone in a similar situation has tried switching and what they actually said?
Also is the 1GB the same as 500MB...i.e. will going over it result in the three texts etc before being charged?
Thanks0
