I dont think parenting is easy but I think people saying its the hardest job in the world are been far fetched, I can think of many things that are hard to deal with that would give it a run for its money.0

I used to think that, but then with other jobs u can go home at the end of it, parenting is a 24 hour a day, 7 day a week, 365/6 day a year job for life.
Just because your children grow up doesnt mean u stop being a parent and sometimes parents have to put up with alot from their 'adult' children too.:j Baby boy Number 2, arrived 12th April 2009!:j0 -
lancsman wrote:Change the word 'most' to 'all' in your statement, thats the difference between the two. It may not be ten times harder, you can't quantify that easy but common sense says a couple 'should' find it easier than a single person.
By the way I actually break the stereotyping of single parents big time... I'm MALE

Good on you, i personally dont think men get the respect and stuff they deserve when they are single dads, correct me if i am wrong but i suspect it is harder being a single dad than being a single mum:j Baby boy Number 2, arrived 12th April 2009!:j0 -
Parenting my be considered the hardest job in the world. Perhaps this is because it never stops; you don't get a day off - ever! The responsibility of having children never leaves you even when they become adult. And many of us single parents hold this level of responsibility without anyone to share it with. My children are my most important focus 24/7 x 365 days of the year. Mine and mine alone.Do not allow the risk of failure to stop you trying!0

Funny when me or my mum used to babysit for my sister when she went out on the !!!!!! I thought she had time off. I see your point and its valid if their is no family at all that help you. But most people even single parents have some sort of family to help.0 -
Looking after an adult with Alzheimers is probably even more tough, in my book. The ability of skinny old ladies to carry huge loads is phenomenal. An ant can carry one hundred times its own weight, but there is no known limit to the lifting power of the average tiny eighty-year-old Spanish peasant grandmother.0
