  • I have just searched quickly on the t obile website and it says this

Pay monthly plans which include internet on your phone
If you choose a Pay Monthly plan which includes internet on your phone, you’ll need internet coverage, check it at t-mobile.co.uk/streetcheck. Remember that you can only use internet on your phone in the UK and you can’t use your phone as a modem or use internet on your phone for peer to peer file sharing, instant messaging or making internet phone calls. *Internet on your phone comes with a fair use policy of 1GB a month. We’ll monitor how much you send and receive each calendar month so that we can protect our network for all our customers. If you use more than your fair use policy amount, we won’t charge you any more, but we may restrict how you can use your booster, depending on how often you go over your amount and by how much. If you remove your booster and then use internet on your phone you’ll automatically be charged our daily rate, see t-mobile.co.uk.

What is the latest on this? i have seen a great deal from buymobilephones.net which is much better that what T-mobile direct offer, but where do I stand on the 3GB?

The retailed says nothing about 3GB and says you have you use the 1GB internet booster.

Do I just apply through the retailed and then ring T-mobile and ask them to change it later?

    Anyone?

I have contacted T-mobile and they just say they can't comment on what other retailers offer.

I have contacted some other retailers, and they just say don't worry 1GB is enough, you don't need 3GB!

I am reluctant to sign up to 24 months through a retailer if I can't get the 3GB and faster speeds that people have talked about on this thread.

Despite being previously told by T Mobile that I had the 3GB allowance I discovered I didn't. I downloaded Speedtest and found I was only getting 350KB/s.

I tried calling customer services and got told I would need to pay extra for the 3GB allowance.

However, instead I sent a tweet to @TmobileUKhelp who asked me to email them my details. I did so and five minutes later they had added "web and walk plus" to my account, which is what gives the 3GB allowance, at no extra cost.

I'd recommend trying this approach as it worked fo rme and has worked for others.

I'm now getting download speeds of 2000 KB/s.
It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die

Glad you finally got it sorted. Is that download speed via wifi or mobile data? Best I've had is 821.1 on Edge and 4114.5 on my wifi.

    2000 KB/s approximately is via HSDPA, I get 9500 KB/s on WiFi.

I am on 10MB/s Virgin Cable though.

  • I bought my phone through mobiles.co.uk. Phoned customer services and was told I was on the 1GB allowance. They politely told me I'd need to speak to Carphone Warehouse to change it unless I wanted to pay £5/month extra. I politely pressed the point that their T&Cs made no distinction between phones purchased direct or through 3rd parties, and after speaking to a team leader, the agent upgraded my account at no charge. However, my account page still shows "unlimited internet booster" (as it did before this conversation), so I have no way of confirming whether my data allowance has changed.

I had the same problem, but T-Mobile called me today and have shifted me over to 3GB. If you run a speedtest, I was getting 220-300 kbit/s but I now get 1,250 kbit/s, so that's a fairly good indication.

Assuming they've actually done what they said, does that mean I can switch my "unlimited internet booster" over to "unlimited texts" without having to pay for data use?

    I tried three different phones, HTC HD2 & T-mobile Hero & t-mobile pulse

Three sims one is having Flext Price plan comes with 1gb Internet
Other is having android 3gb internet & other is having free flexible internet booster 1gb.

I did tethering using my laptop and a software DU METER,downloaded files from rapidshare to test speed from two different locations (london & Glasgow) tried three different handsets and as well tried my Flext 1gb bandwidth + 3gb Android Bandwidth + free flexible internet booster 1GB..

After performing several test and exchanging sim cards in all handsets..

    Flext 40 1gb =2.1MB MAX --- 1.7MB Average
    Android Version 3GB =1.8MB MAX --- 1.4MB Average
    Free Flexible Booster=1.7MB Max --- 1.4MB Average

    All uploads = 512 kb

Where as on 3 network i was getting 2.1MB download and upload was shocking for me which gaved around 1.5MB

All connections was tested on HSDPA connectivity..
