Have you checked the fair use limit with Vodafone?

Yes it is 500MB on a domestic tariff and Unlimited on a Business tariff. The Quidco cashback is also available on Vodafone's Business tariffs offering Unlimited Data. On a small business arrangement you get Cross Network calls 250 SMS, Unlimited Data and Unlimited calls to Landlines. You however get £100 off a business tariff via Quidco not £150. The small business tariff also provides access to Vodafone's dedicated business customer care team which is UK based.

So on Vodafone business via Quidco it's quite an attractive proposition.

    fifer,

thats not the point katedragons trying to make.

she is saying the T&C clearly says for all android handsets they get 3gb limit. nowhere does it say resellers get 1gb limit.

vodafone and orange say it upfront eveyone get 500mb (or 750mb on some panther40 tariffs on orange) and it stays the same from main seller or reseller.

btw does quidco give cashbacks for 3 network. i have never done the quidco stuff so dont know about that.

That's odd. I bought my Desire almost 3 weeks ago and one of the main reasons I went direct to T-Mobile was that I was well aware that the Android 3GB limit only applied to direct sales, not resellers. It was perfectly clear from my reading of the T-Mobile and reseller T&Cs. My experience with T-Mobile thus far has been exemplary (and I got the fantastic £10 pm deal too).

'Unlimited' internet appears to be subject to a 500MB fair use policy on Vodafone business tariffs too. See here.

    The terms:

Pay monthly plans which include internet on your phone on an Android phone You'll need internet coverage, check it at t-mobile.co.uk/streetcheck. Remember that you can only use your internet on your phone Booster in the UK and you can't use your phone as a modem or use web'n'walk Plus for peer to peer file sharing, or making internet phone calls. *Internet on your phone comes with a fair use policy of 3GB a month. We'll monitor how much you send and receive each calendar month so that we can protect our network for all our internet on your customers. If you use more than your fair use policy amount, we won't charge you any more, but we may restrict how you can use your plan, depending on how often you go over your amount and by how much. As your phone is always connected to the internet, if you remove your internet on your phone Plus Booster from your account you'll automatically be charged up to £1 every day. That £1 a day rate has its own fair use policy and other legal stuff, which you can see here: t-mobile.co.uk/services/uk/fairuse/#fup5.

These are the terms of sale for buying via t-mobile it need not mention re-sellers as these terms are nothing to do with them
if you see post # 8 in this thread made by me. i mentioned i had called tmbolie telesales number given on tmobile website and they assured me that even if i buy htc desire from reseller i will still get 3gb as it is an android handset. i called them yesterday afternoon i think. you can call the number mentioned in my post above and confirm this for yourself.

i saw the resellers websites mentioned 1gb too. but in view of the posts here i thought i would clarify the situation for myself and called tmobile direct and specifically asked the question about resellers and internet limit for htc desire phone as was interested in buying two of them and the lady (i didnt catch her name) confirmed the limit would be 3gb even via reseller. i got the tmobile # from tmobile website

why i tried negotiating with tmobile direct is because of my past experience where more than 4y ago when i was with vodafone with two fones and they werent giving me great upgrades even though with them for almost 4y then. so my cousin was with 3 network and he got a good upgrade offer from 3 network. so we called them (3 network) from his mobile and said he had got the good deal and whether they were willing to take me as a new customer to three network but give me same upgrade deal as my cousin if i bought 2 phones and paymonthly contracts with them on the spot, they agreed and i moved to three for better handsets. after i moved vodafone calls me back and wants me to cancel three order as they said they were willing to match three networks offer to retain me. but i told vodafone that if they had offered me the deal when i asked them i would have stayed with them but now having got a good deal from 3 network i wasnt willing to cancell the contract before delivery just because they were willing to match it and that they needed to do more before customers left them rather than try to entice them back after driving them out of vodafone. so i have haggled and got offers matching others peoples upgrade offers when i wasnt even with that network (3). dont know if they still match for new customers on to other customers upgrade equivalents. worth a punt and it worked for me for two of my mobile contracts but that was a lil over 4y ago when i moved to three.

Unofrtunatly you were given wrong information by the sales person. As you have seen for yourself on the re-sellers websites the FUP is set at 1GB

I phone up today and spoke to them and was assured I was on a 3GB limit even though I ordered via mobiles.co.uk.

To me the big issue isn't the lower limit for resellers it's the fact it's at a lower speed as well according to the forums at xda-developers. I'd be happy with a 1 GB limit but want the full speed the phone is capable of.

I suspect that the problem with resellers is that they are not selling you a T-Mobile phone and contract package, but are selling you a phone (under their own terms which may be free if you buy a contract at the same time) along with a separate airtime contract. That airtime contract may have different T&Cs to the T-Mobile Android package - T-Mobile might not even know what type of phone you have been sold as they merely provide the SIM card.

It's like buying separate flights and hotel accommodation rather than a package holiday. You might end up on the same plane and in the same hotel but you might pay less, but lose out on the free children's place and holiday rep 'services'.

Yes I believe the 3GB provides a faster speed.

What I think is wrong here, ASIDE from the fact that T-Mobile seems to be providing conflicting information, is the fact that T-Mobile's "direct" offer as opposed to what is provided via a re-seller affects the capability of the Device's operation. IE Speed and amount you can download.

If this was an offer where you get say a free headset for example with T-Mobile and not with a re-seller this would be different in my book. This does not directly affect the Device's ability to operate on its own correctly.

For example a Vauxhall Corsa LX has the same top-speed no matter which Dealer you buy it from. This kind of thing. However different dealers may provide free Mud Flaps, a roofrack. These do not affect its overall capability.

However, it does not matter now as I will be going to a different provider. I would rather have 500MB and pay for any additional usage from someone that is "upfront" than T-Mobile who appears to be deceitful in this.
