Petrol for taking 6 people on holiday in the UK will be cheaper than paying for 6 return flights and petrol/parking to get to the airport for a holiday abroad, don't you take that into consideration when booking a holiday i think most people do as its a overall cost

If we are going to get really pedantic:

Caravans (IMO) are not big enough to swing a cat, let alone sleep 6 people for a week, so lets say 4 people, just for arguments sake.

4 people flights to say, Lanzarote - probably around £1200 (£1000 if you shop about) - that leaves you £800 - £1000 for an apartment - I would say that you could get somewhere pretty nice for £1000!!!

(I just paid £290 for a 2 bedroom for a week in Lanzarote in Feb)

SPain - flights would be even cheaper.

Stopover at Manchester airport the night before - £110 including parking for the week.

Petrol to get there - depends where you live. Say £50

If you think staying in a caravan in Primrose Valley at a Haven holiday site is worth £2000 then I am very happy for you, I personally think it is a rip off and I would not holiday there if it were the last place on earth, but each to their own.

You must be VERY easily pleased then.

Complainers will always say that about people who have a grip on reality. The case is this Pulliptears like myself just cope a lot better than complainers when something isn't right. Thats actually completely different from being easily pleased!

    no probably not a snob
I was born and bred in East London so DEFINITELY not a snob.
However, i don't expect to go to either a crumby caravan or a 5* Hotel, and clean it myself when i get there.
If anyone does, then they aren't too bright.
Fortunately I have a grip on reality and I am not possessed with the need to jump up and down and complain about the most trivial of things that with minimal effort I can solve myself.
I have a good grip on reality.
The fact is, if i pay good money for something then i bloody expect it. I don't expect to go to a hotel and clean the room myself.

I don't complain as i don't go to these nasty littel holes that you and Pulliptears profess to frequent.
    Only someone that either is:
    a). Easily pleased
    b). Incredibly stupid
c). Realised they had booked a dump before they got there
d). Are used to paying alot of money for rubbish service
    e). All of the above
Would comment on that and try to justify cleaning your own holiday apartment.

That is NOT complaining for the sake of it.
It's getting what you pay for.
There is no doubt the OP has whined about very little though, i agree.

Nevermind....enjoy your caravan this year

Aren't too bright but you didn't read her post properly!;)

She didn't say she does expect it, she said she'd be able to cope better than the op!

I'm going to come up with a complainers glossary!

    "By law they have to......."
    "He/she was so rude"
    "I paid good money"
"Is this how you treat a loyal customer?"
    "I've never been........"
    "I've never known......"
