If we're cost comparing ... I've just booked a week in a private caravan on a Haven site for June for less than it would cost us to get all three passports that we would need to go abroad.

Yes I know that's a short-sighted viewpoint as the passports would be valid for 10 years (5 for baby), but my finances don't permit me to think in terms of holidays abroad in the next few years either.

And we're paying for the caravan with so-called bad money. So shoot me.

Back on topic .... I personally could cope with the place being mucky, I'd just get the stuff and start cleaning. But I'm not sure I'd be happy about draughty gaps and non-closing windows.
thank god for the 9.50 holidays :rotfl:
    i love them

A few crumbs and a little dust spoiled your holiday?:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

As for the 'gaps' that were big enough to see through,if they were indeed like that you should have done something at the time.Afterall, the cleaners you called wouldn't be able to fix that would they!

As for the caravan snobbery from some --->:rotfl:

Same goes for the almost 2 grand for a prestige caravan? How long would that be for?I don't even pay that for 7 nights in their top of the range caravans so god knows how you would in prestige:rotfl: I think you'll find the price is far closer to 1 grand than 2 ;) infact right now I could go prestige for 1219 for an 8 sleeper not the 6 you said

OP,I've always found Haven to have fab customer service, their caravans lovely and the parks great fun (certainly no chavs when we go in the summer holidays every year). You should've done something while you were there.I really would not bet on getting that refund because you really won't and shouldn't

The 'Prestige' was the tope of the range.

And feel free to look for it on the delightful Haven website! that was last years prices - they are probably £3K this year!

No,Platinum is top of the range and always has been.

I have looked at the prices,8 sleeper prestige is 1219.80 for 7 nights

Even Platinum doesn't cost 2 grand (currently for august,8 sleeper 1438)

You're exaggerating,I got to Haven every year,I know the levels and how much they cost.As does the site right this minute

But they should inspect the tea pots (that are washed and put away by the previous occupier) and anything else that has a hole in it just incase ;):rotfl:

true but having worked in butlins some of the staff who worked in the chalet cleaning dept were either two sandwiches short of a picnic or still drunk from the night before so they proably didn't notice :rotfl:

I didnt make a song and dance over it - I didnt have a mouldy teapot :)

I was joking :rotfl: God knows what they do but given the amount of crockery, cutlery, utensils etc that they have in caravans I can't imagine they are meant to rewash all of that aswell as clean, hoover and dust the caravan, bleach the loo and clean the shower and change the bedding.I'd have thought they cleaning would be general rather than teapot inspections

OK it was a Platinum 'rolleyes' - pardon me for not knowing the names of all the different Haven levels - I aren't a regular.

I am not exagerating. I paid £330 for 3 nights May bank holiday for the most expensive caravan they had - I was expecting it to be something special because of the price. I checked when I got back at how much the same caravan would have been in August and that is what it came up as.

I'm going to Haven hagerston castle in June, it has cost me around £600 for 5 nights, I wouldn't be happy if it was manky as have booked the top of the range caravan, but if it was I would say there and then and make sure something was done about it, not wait till I got home and then chance my arm for a refund after using all their facilities + gas, lecky etc, but that's just me :p

All I am trying to say is this...

The effort it would take to pick up the teapot, march over to customer services to complain is far more effort that it would take to simply tip the contents in the bin and give it a wash.

mistakes happen, sometimes things are missed, in the grand scheme of things its not really worth it.
