I am not exagerating. I paid £330 for 3 nights May bank holiday for the most expensive caravan they had - I was expecting it to be something special because of the price. I checked when I got back at how much the same caravan would have been in August and that is what it came up as.
You're exaggerating how much 7 nights would cost (and if you are meaning primose valley that you went to that makes it even cheaper)
Platinums have obvious differences to the other caravans, all the central heating for a start...If women are birds and freedom is flight are trapped women Dodos?0 -
I'm going to Haven hagerston castle in June, it has cost me around £600 for 5 nights, I wouldn't be happy if it was manky as have booked the top of the range caravan, but if it was I would say there and then and make sure something was done about it, not wait till I got home and then chance my arm for a refund after using all their facilities + gas, lecky etc, but that's just me
I would agree with that.
In hindsight I wish I had packed up and left when I went. I complained several times, but they had no other caravans, apart from a Silver, which I thought would probably be even worse.
Also I was on my own with the kids and didnt want to disappoint them by taking them home.
I also realised when we got home that you seem to pay quite a lot extra for the 'facilities' - we didnt use any of them! we tried the pool the first day - it was awful! the clubhouse was sticky floored and full of people I wouldnt want to meet on a dark night, so we stayed in for the rest of the time we were there!0 -

I wish I could find the original thread I started at the time I went as it had a screenshot on theremaybe it was for 2 weeks, but even still that is a ridiculous amount - £1400 for a week is a ridiculous amount - don't you think????
What else is great about the Platinum then? our central heating didnt even work! (yes someone came out to it - but almost 24 hours after we moved in)0 -

Ours are always lovely, modern decor, earlier check in,bigger, double glazed etc
I'd magine it would've been 2 weeks for 2 grand
I don't mind the 1400 as we have a great time there, stayed in other caravans too and they were fine, just wanted a bit more room
I have heard bad reviews about Primrose Valley though, but we don't go there and have always had fab service when we've been to Haven.I couldn't fault the park we go to at allIf women are birds and freedom is flight are trapped women Dodos?0 -

I prefer Center Parcs - clean, chav-free, nice pool, clean restauraunts.
Probably cheaper than Haven as well.0 -
Why do so many people on this forum have to knock others for what they choose to do?
Maybe people go to holiday parks or caravan holidays, because they haven't got passports ~ they aren't cheap now.
Maybe they have a fear of flying.
Maybe it's all they know.
But is there any need to knock them?
I've been to Haven and Butlins, the last time was 10 years ago (I think?) when I was a single Mum.
It would have been cheaper to pay for a holiday abroad (flights and accom) abroad, but that doesn't factor the costs for passports, suitcases, suncreams, clothing suitable for the sun abroad, fares to get to an airport etc...
That's why I used to take the kids to places like that.
Please don't look down on others ~ it's rude and down right ignorant.
As for the OP, if it was that bad, you would have left or kept complaining while you were there till you were satisfied with everything.
I don't think for one minute that you will get a full refund because the place with shabby and some things needed cleaning.
Actually I have nothing against holiday parks in general - just CHAVEN.
I have stayed in other places in the UK, and whilst the UK isnt my fiurst choice of holiday they are nothing like the HAVENS I have seen.
And it isnt just me either - friends have come back with similar reports when they have been.
And the customer service is disgraceful, but whilst you are there and back home too.0 -

The effort it would take to pick up the teapot, march over to customer services to complain is far more effort that it would take to simply tip the contents in the bin and give it a wash.
mistakes happen, sometimes things are missed, in the grand scheme of things its not really worth it.
I agree, life's too short to get worked up about a mouldy teapot.0 -

yeah try having a whole mouldy ceiling to deal with and the whole appartment swimming with water like we did when we went to spain ( they had really bad rain and it had flooded the place ) my dad doesent get angry very often but he basically told the rep they were going to find us somwhere dry othere wise he'd be contacted watchdog and the newspapers plus he was going to sit in the office until they had an hour later theyd put us up in a well nice hotel :rotfl:Replies to posts are always welcome, If I have made a mistake in the post, I am human, tell me nicely and it will be corrected.
