Why do so many people on this forum have to knock others for what they choose to do?

Maybe people go to holiday parks or caravan holidays, because they haven't got passports ~ they aren't cheap now.

Maybe they have a fear of flying.

    Maybe it's all they know.

But is there any need to knock them?

I've been to Haven and Butlins, the last time was 10 years ago (I think?) when I was a single Mum.

It would have been cheaper to pay for a holiday abroad (flights and accom) abroad, but that doesn't factor the costs for passports, suitcases, suncreams, clothing suitable for the sun abroad, fares to get to an airport etc...

That's why I used to take the kids to places like that.

Please don't look down on others ~ it's rude and down right ignorant.

As for the OP, if it was that bad, you would have left or kept complaining while you were there till you were satisfied with everything.

I don't think for one minute that you will get a full refund because the place with shabby and some things needed cleaning.

A few crumbs and a little dust spoiled your holiday?:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

As for the 'gaps' that were big enough to see through,if they were indeed like that you should have done something at the time.Afterall, the cleaners you called wouldn't be able to fix that would they!

As for the caravan snobbery from some --->:rotfl:

Same goes for the almost 2 grand for a prestige caravan? How long would that be for?I don't even pay that for 7 nights in their top of the range caravans so god knows how you would in prestige:rotfl: I think you'll find the price is far closer to 1 grand than 2 ;) infact right now I could go prestige for 1219 for an 8 sleeper not the 6 you said

OP,I've always found Haven to have fab customer service, their caravans lovely and the parks great fun (certainly no chavs when we go in the summer holidays every year). You should've done something while you were there.I really would not bet on getting that refund because you really won't and shouldn't

Complainers will always say that about people who have a grip on reality. The case is this Pulliptears like myself just cope a lot better than complainers when something isn't right. Thats actually completely different from being easily pleased!

Why would you want to 'cope'???:)

We can all 'cope' but I work hard all year and when I go on holiday (which I do several times a year) I want it to be nice!! and if the brochure tells me it will be nice then it should be! (and it most certainly should be clean - I dont want to clean up someone elses dirt thanks!)

Holiday snobbery really pees me off.I have a good career but I take my son to Haven every year because it's nice to have a lovely family holiday where you can just relax and have good old family fun and appreciate life without ipods and laptops etc. It's nice to have a lovely caravan (which is basic compared to a house or hotel in some ways) and just appreciate the real things in life for a while.Wouldn't catch me swapping it for lazing on a sunlounger by the pool or frying on a beach while reading a book:D

no but any sane person would just give it a good clean or find the nearest staff memeber and make it perfectly clear that it need's changing asap theres no need to make a song and dance out of it

If we're cost comparing ... I've just booked a week in a private caravan on a Haven site for June for less than it would cost us to get all three passports that we would need to go abroad.

Yes I know that's a short-sighted viewpoint as the passports would be valid for 10 years (5 for baby), but my finances don't permit me to think in terms of holidays abroad in the next few years either.

And we're paying for the caravan with so-called bad money. So shoot me.

Back on topic .... I personally could cope with the place being mucky, I'd just get the stuff and start cleaning. But I'm not sure I'd be happy about draughty gaps and non-closing windows.

But they should inspect the tea pots (that are washed and put away by the previous occupier) and anything else that has a hole in it just incase ;):rotfl:
