Haven Holidays refund advice

I had the same problem many years ago, I booked into a Haven caravan and the fridge was set at 2 degrees when the check sheet said 1 degree. When I got back after my 2 week holiday I demanded a full refund but have yet to hear anything. Clearly they are still considering my case :-)
But seriously, does the OP really expect a full refund. You stayed the whole weekend availing yourself of the facilities. Furthermore of the complaints listed probably 2 at most are valid. The fact that an individual has at sometime smoked in a non smoking caravan is hardly havens fault, and I question how a stain on the door actually affects anyones holiday.
Overall a pretty petty letter, I have strong suspicions that the OP is either Trinny or Suzanne from 'How Clean is Your House'
Trinny and Susannah do 'How to Undress the Nation' and 'What not to wear'.
Kim and Aggie do 'How clean is your house'0 -

It was 100 times nicer so I would have paid more too.
I went to Haven myself, so I obviously wasnt suggesting that everyone who goes there is a CHAV, but the last time I went everyone who I met was a CHAV, so perhaps that particular weekend it was just me who wasnt one.
( I especially liked the lady who had the names of her 4 children tatooed on her arm:))
Ha ha ha ha. I know what you mean.
Centreparcs is lovely though. So peaceful.
Different strokes for different folks i suppose.
My Sister used to work for Haven as a haven Mate many moons ago and she didn't have a good word to say about the holiday makers.
Sad but true...(c) Broke in Yorkshire. ( there are worse places )

I think CHAVEN is much more apt than HAVEN personally.
I go on Haven holidays and I am far from being a Chav! It's pretty offensive for you to make such a generalisation.
I like their sites as they're in the places I want to stay and I can take my dog with me. I've never been abroad in my life and it will be a long time before I do so as there are far too many things to see and do here before I bother with passports and things...especially as I won't leave the dog out of our holiday. I don't use the site facilities, but they make great bases to get out and about and have a good look around.
I've only had problems with one caravan and that was only because the fridge was missing and one of the wardrobe doors was hanging off. I told them about it and they gave me a higher grade caravan straight away.0 -

I have never been anywhere else where I have been so surrounded by people:
- Covered in tatoos (often names of offspring, boy/girlfriend or 'Mum')
- Accompanied by children with names such as: Chelsea, Tyler, Mercedes (etc.)
- Swearing at their children
- Sat in the bar waiting for check-in with several pushchairs/toddlers
- Drinking from cans of Carlsberg whilst walking around the site
- Wearing 'muscle' vests (men) and pink 'juicy' tracksuits (women)
- Accompanied by toddler boys with earrings and gold chains on
- Appearing to be wearing the entire stock of 'Goldhouse' at the same time
- Accompanied by 4 year olds (or older) with dummies in
I could go on....
If you are non of the above then you are probably not a CHAV:) but as I said, I only saw CHAVS when I went, so that is all I can base my theory on.
Also, why be offended? - I often go to the coast, which is also full of chavs, but as I am not one, I wouldnt let it worry me if someone said that the coast was full of chavs!0 -
hello all
to the OP i think you are probably asking a tad too much for a full refundin all fairness you shouldve dealt with the problem at the time, put your foot down!
as a family we went to pontins last year on arrival we found the chalet to be unclean, beds unmade, unhoovered etc we headed straight to front office..we were also supposed to have a travel cot and fridge in our room which werent.
they sent the cleaners asap to sort the problem, told that the fridge was a hire fridge (we were on half board) but they did then offer us it at half price, we were all prepared to go home we felt so strongly about the lack of attention to the room, but they were incredibly efficient and jelpful. we stuck out the rest of the week but to be fair it was great, the kids thought it was brilliant, we didnt have to cook or wash up and fun was had by all. they also surpassed theirselves when our baby got sick on the last night, they helped pack our things and car, called out the paramedics and even offered my OH somewhere to stay when we had to take baby to the hospital and he had to stay in over night.
any way back to haven, we are off to craigtara in scotland next month for a week, half board with teh hire of a pushchair, highchair and cot all for 300 this was on special offer granted, our son is super excited he is 6 and would be bored out of his little skull on a beach holiday abroad (we looked into this but thought the haven was better money for our family) he has ADHD and like to have plenty to do and we always found these holiday camps to be good for stuff to do. as we live in norfolk we will have no problem stomping our feet and getting any problem sorted there and then (if that happens) as there is nooo way we will be driving all the way back home till the end of the holiday its just too far!
a bit of advise though for people going to haven camps, aim for a smaller one, you will find the staff are much more accomadating and friendly. less run ragged i guess!0 -
A haven mate is the same as a butlins redcoat.
I think they are called funstars nowadays.
I found pontins to be crap the few times i have stayed there. Butlins is much better.
I stayed at Pontins Blackpool a few years ago and the chalet was nice but i had paid for deluxe accomodation and it wasn't really that.
When we stay at Haven we tend to avoid the clubs as they are too expensive and the eateries for the same reason.(c) Broke in Yorkshire. ( there are worse places )

i love the haven camp in hayle, just because i love the beach.
i did stay at perranporth but i found that too big and stupidly busy!0
