Haven Holidays refund advice

Sorry, have to agree with the other posts here.
You stayed the whole weekend, you can't expect a full refund. If you'd have left because the caravan was ininhabitable fair enough, but it wasn't, these really are petty annoyances. You should have demanded to be moved while you were there, or left.
Really, I think you're peeing in the wind expecting a full cash refund, you're more likely to get a £50 voucher.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
Sounds like the caravan hadn't been cleaned since the previous occupants and was likely to be an oversight. You should have been persistent OP and asked to be moved, particularly if the window had a gap. To stay and then expect a full refund is laughable especially as most things could have been remedied yourself. I would be peeved if I had to clean a caravan before a stay but I would rather do that than sit and look at it for 4 days and then chance a refund on my return home.
Did you follow the correct complaints procedure at the site (usually you have to submit some sort of complaint before you leave)?0 -
From experience you will get nothing from Haven. They simply do not care.
In my opinion it is an overpriced chav hell hole and I will never set foot in any of the parks again.
When we had the mis-fortune to stay for the weekend, in a 'Prestige' caravan, I came to the conclusion that if people really accepted that as 'Prestige' then most holiday makers who go there must live in tents, or sewers, or on park benches.
I paid £330 for 3 nights and for the same price I could have stayed in a hotel and not had to suffer the 'entertainment' or the overpriced sticky floored 'restaraunts'. NOt to mention having to sleep in a draughty, dirty, ugly, cold, damp caravan.
I feel for you op, because you can rest assured that you will get nowhere - I only got a reply to my letter because I sent it three times, each time with a covering letter asking why they hadnt replied to the last one. Even then the letter just said they thought their caravans were lovely and most people were pleased with them.
Oh and you won't get much help on here either, when I asked on here I was shot down pretty much as you have been.
Good luck though.0 -
I got a full refund from Pontins southport a few years back, but that was more due to the fact that i complained the minute we got into the first apartment, we were then moved but it was no better, i went and met the park manager who i made a written complaint to on the spot and then we left and went back home. I recieved a full refund within 5 days of the holiday.
You should of really complained whilst there, not sure you stand much of a chance complaining afterwards.
Did you or would you give them another chance?Always ask ACAS0 -
LOL........ and this ruined your holiday HOW???
I stayed at a haven camp where the frying pan was burnt out and there was no spatula - this ruined my fried brekkie the next morning - was I entitled to a full refund??
Looks like you got an unlucky caravan but had it been me I would have demanded to be moved to somewhere else on their site or for them to pay the difference to for us to stay in a hotel. This would be due to the draughts you speak of as that has got to be bad for you under health and safety grounds. The fact you chose to stay in the caravan to me assumes you have accepted the goods (if you link it to supermarket shopping - you go in and pick up an obvious battered broken item, pay for it and get it home. You would not be entitled to a refund if you retuned it on the grounds it was battered and broken.loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -
I checked the price of the 'prestige' caravan that we stayed in, as if we were staying there for a week in August - it came out at almost £2000!!!!! I could go on a luxury holiday abroad for that price!!0

Imagine paying £2K (and food and drinks extra), to go to Wales or Liverpool on holiday :rotfl::rotfl:
Better of spending the week in Pentonville.0 -

A caravan sleeps up to 8 people tho, could 8 people go abroad for 2k?0 -

Actually the caravan I stayed in only slept 6.
And it was horrible - like sleeping in a low class shed, with toy facilities. Venturing outside was like stepping into an episode of 'Shameless'.
And yes, I own a timeshare in a 5* hotel, so I could easily take another 7 people there for £2k.0 -

Have you actually read the complaints? OP is being "shot down" because of the trivial nonsense they are choosing to complain about. Haven staff will be laughing themselves around the office when they sit and read OP's letter.0
