Brother thinks he's getting a raw deal with rent - What do you charge your children?

I'd throw him out, or tell him £33 is fine, without the free lifts, that'll work out much more expensive and inconvenient for him. Trashing his parents place, not cool. Whatever you do, you must be seen as the perfect child :-)0

if he doesnt like it he could always leave. where else could you get taxied about every day and all you can eat and drink for what he pays?
i doubt very much your poor parents will ever get shot of him, what a twit!
what damage did he do, and has he paid for the repairs?'We're not here for a long time, we're here for a good time0 -
Your poor parents. I'd have him out on his ear.
He knows he's getting away with murder compared to what he could be paying if he lived away from home, and he's slinging his weight around to try and force your parents to back down because he knows it.
If necessary, your parents should get some friends or relatives round when they tell him to sling his hook. Being frightened in your own home - especially by some ungrateful little scrotum you've worked your fingers to the bone for so he could have a decent standard of living - is not to be tolerated.

a 21yr old toddler!!! did your parents call the police over the damaged caused? i know i would have. I agree with the other posters, your parents need to stop driving your brother around. he needs to start acting like an adult, and stand on his own two feet.
they should kick him out and let him join the real world and realise just how easy he has had it so far..Life is like a box of chocolates........
too much all at once and you start to feel just a little sick...._ _pale_

Your brother should be on his knees thanking God that he only has to pay a Paltry £50.
God help him when he goes out into the real world, or wants to live with a partner, he is in for a very sharp shock.
Your parents should show him the door if he isnt happy, selfish git.:mad:0 -
Your parents are not being fair to your brother - he will never, ever be able to live on his own if they persist in keeping him like this!
He should be paying his way - and that includes paying for the damage he has caused.
On £22,000 he should be paying a proper rent!0 -
This isn't about money, it's about power and intimidation. He wants to call the shots and be the boss, and is just using money as his ammunition.
I cannot imagine ever EVER treating my parents in such a callous and vicious manner. Why are they still letting him live there? Get the police around to oversee his eviction, write off the £600 and let the repulsive little toad learn to live in the real world without help.

I did think it would be a bit dearer down there, but was trying for "mates rates" as he's a member of the family :rotfl:, but £100 a week for a bedsit? I think in Glasgow that would be about £60 or £70 in a reasonable area. It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your windowEvery worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph; a beginning, a struggle and a victory. - Ghandi0 -
