I am tired of patronising voices advising that - 'Cash backs are a bonus not a right'

If a company makes an offer to me and I meet their conditions then that offer of a CASHBACK becomes a RIGH and an obligation on their part...NOT a Bonus!!

If a company makes you an offer.........check the small print ;)

In the T&C's: 14 days from receipt of SIM card.
11 Important – Consumer Customers your right to change your mind
11.1 Unless otherwise stated, if you are a Consumer Customer and purchased your Service directly from us (rather than one of our distributors), in addition to
any other rights you have, you may cancel this Agreement up to 14 days after the date on which you receive your SIM Card (the “Change Your Mind
Period“) as long as you give us notice within this 14 day period either by returning to any O2 retail store or by calling Customer Services. You must also
return any Handset that was supplied to you on the basis that you agreed to enter into this Agreement, undamaged, with proof of purchase, in the
original packaging and complete with all the original parts, within the Change Your Mind Period either to any O2 retail store, or via our returns procedure
if you did not purchase in an O2 retail store (call Customer Services for details of our returns procedure). You may use your SIM Card in your Mobile Phone
to connect to the Network during this period, but you will be required to pay for the cost of any usage you make such as calls, texts or data, including
roaming or other usage that my take longer to be billed.

But how can you prove your date of receipt? I ordered a sim on the 31st but it only arrived yesterday (11th), the date posted was the 1st so i dont know where it went in between

Well - I thought about that too. You cannot and neither can they. What I did was put the SIM in my phone and switched it on when it arrived (yesterday) and that will be a good indication as to when it was received. They would have a hard time disputing that.

    Still not tracked!! Grrrr

It's not only O2 that works this way actually, and definitely not TCB :). Those who took the same promotion with quidco is going thru the same thing.

I had an A&L cashback from quidco last year, and it tracked at £0.00 at first before being uplifted to £50 when paid.

And I myself can vouch that I saw the 'disclaimer' that it will initially track at £25 on TCB page (which has been removed as the promotion has ended). Perhaps people should read through the T&C before assuming and be so quick to accuse :)

That said, even £25 had not tracked on my TCB account, so I'm going to cancel on Monday. At the same £25 a month, I could get a new HTC Desire. For free! (albeit 600 minutes less)

Very true; the difference used to be that Quidco policed its merchants and Topcash doesn't give a flying you know what! Unfortunately, since Quidco "improved" its website it doesn't appear to police its merchants any more - meaning that the merchants can promise whatever they please with no intention of fulfilling their promises and the cashback sites are content to let them continue so doing. Relying on anything promised on there is (unfairly) not be relied on - since you have no legal comeback whatsoever. I do a lot of mobile cashback deals (dealer cashback with cashback site cashback on top) but I always prepare to sue from the start (and sometimes have to be prepared to). The cashback sites make a point of ensuring you can't sue them even if they do absolutely nothing in reality to secure YOUR money. Thus the risk of a dishonest merchant is all on YOUR side and you are powerless should they simply refuse to pay. Whether O2 will cough up on its promises is therefore to do with them rather than the cashback site, who pay lipservice nowadays to member's interests and rights.

Mine not tracking either, this is getting risky. I'm not going to put the SIM in my phone at all, and if come Monday it has still not tracked I'm going to call O2 and cancel the contract on the basis that the SIM has not arrived :p

Please could you look at the above since it seems I like many customers who were attracted to this deal through MSL are seemingly NOT tracking at £200 but at £25.

Top Cash Back are ignoring the worries, are not issuing an uneqivocal statment and the issue seems worringly similar to usual big business tactics.

    Please advise?

MSE any help, guidance and advice in this issue.

Alot of people are still concerned their transaction still hasn't been tracked. (Not even £25.00, never mind the £200.00 yet)

Also TCB representative are you going shed any light on this issue?

    thanks.

advise you to either read this thread where this has been answered a million times or to have checked that cashback page closer when you placed your order.

Seeing as its your 1st post.....it will track at £25 and rise to the correct amount on validation i.e you have nothing to worry about
