I would agree with mobilejunkie, my experience of TCB has been very poor in comparison with other 'cashback' sites.

I would also say looking at the previous post from H. IF LIKE ME YOU HAVE TAKEN OUT THIS O2 £200 SIM DEAL AND IT'S NOT EVEN TRACKED, THINK VERY SERIOUSLY ABOUT NOT CANCELLING. Because of my past problems with genuine unresolved claims, I decided to cancel. You will only have a few days left before your into a 12 month contract with no guarantee of ANY cashback whatsoever.

What I really can't understand is when cookies are cleared and a transaction is made and forewhatever reason something goes wrong with the tracking why does it take months if not years (in my case against Currys) with a status of waiting for merchant to reply.

In this specific case of the O2 deal its obvious that people are only signing up with the promise of £200 cashback.

I have to say it's not a promise though, is it.... Cashback is a bonus which you might get if you're lucky.....

If you compare this to most other offers, BOGOF at your local supermarket, buy 2 for 1, if at checkout they said well we'll have to think about it we'll write to head office and if you get the bonus it will be credited eventaully to your credit card. Would that be acceptable? In my view this is exactly what some cashback sites are saying.......

Why can't they guarantee their offers, you buy the sim you pay for it - your entitled to the offer plain and simple.

Sorry but this has happened to me personally with Currys, AA Breakdown insurance and now O2. I can say if it wasn't for the cashback offered I would not have made my purchase from Currys or taken out AA breakdown insurance. GreenFlag were cheaper at the time, but with the 'bonus' of £25 cashback I went for the AA of course they still 2 years later haven't paid out.

I would like to see all these websites regulated and safeguarded against retailers that decide to advertise offers then decide NOT to pay.

    Cheers

PS What's even more annoying is that I never called the AA out during the 12 months of the policy, switched to Greenflag lower cashback offer, which DIDN'T track put in a claim last month - Why do I get a feeling of De Ja Vue

PPS just received an email from TCB

"We hope you're enjoying earning cashback on your online purchases via TopCashBack.co.uk.
Customer satisfaction is of paramount importance here at Top CashBack, so we would really appreciate your 'vote' on how likely you are to recommend Top CashBack to a friend or colleague. If you have 30 seconds to spare, please could you give us your rating.

I had one of those a while back; they got my opinion but since they don't actually take notice of feedback it'll no doubt be water off a duck's back!

TCB Representative still hasn't come back to us, confirming any latest info/news on this for us. There are soo many customers out there who's claims have been put on ice, no sim card and but yet have been billed. This is just ridiculous, TCB and o2 needs to sort its act out.... many people have joined TCB becuase of this o2 deal, many people are are willing to switch to o2 becuase of the £200.00 cashback deal. I thort it was always about keeping customer infront?

TCB and O2 do you really think people will comeback to you again after this. TCB there will be many people who will not purchase through TCB and rather go for an alternative website for cashback deals. O2 will loose soo many customers if everyones decides to cancel the deal and go elsewhere.

This deal was promoted by TCB via email and MSE via email to. Customers are getting no light on this by either.

Who would have thought that you had to through so much hassle and headache, just to get an sim only cash back deal...!

Further to my posts on facebook they replied with this...

Thanks for your enquiry and your Facebook comments; hopefully I will be able to update you a little further. Also, welcome to Top CashBack!

It appears that your O2 transaction has failed to track back to your Top CashBack account. Untracked transactions can occur for many reasons, so I will try to outline the most common issues so that you are aware of them for all future purchases.

Our website and the merchant's websites all use Cookies to track member’s transactions. We do have a tracking test in our Help pages that you may wish to try, but as we have so many retailers it is impossible to do a test for each one as each merchant will use a different type of cookie. We simply just check for the most common ones, so although our initial test may be successful, it doesn't guarantee that all your transactions will all track successfully.

Using a lot of search engines or price comparison sites can 'clog' your Cookie store up, so it is possible that the relevant cookie for your O2 transaction wasn't stored on your computer so that it could be tracked back to your account with us.

In light of this, I would suggest that you clear your Cookie Cache before clicking through to one of our merchant's sites and making a purchase, as this will help to ensure that it tracks successfully. You can do this by clicking on Tools > Internet Options > Delete Browsing History on your Internet Browser.

You may also find that certain Web Browsers are more compatible with our site, so if you regularly get untracked transactions you could try using a different browser - Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, and Google Chrome are among the most common ones.

Another common issue that can affect tracking is Spyware and Anti Virus software, as the more 'viscous' software will often prevent the cookie from being stored if they see it as 'malicious'. To try and overcome this, I would suggest that you ensure both your Web Browser and your Anti Virus settings are set to allow cookies.

Now in terms of your Missing Commission Claim with O2, it is currently On Ice until the 30th April - which I believe is the date you quoted over Facebook. This is because the merchant won't accept any claims off us until this date as they specify a one month validation period. This simply means that they like the phone contract to be in force for this time period before they can validate it and are happy that it hasn't been, or isn't going to be, cancelled once the cashback has been claimed.

I realise that this does seem like quite a while to wait, but I hope you can appreciate that it isn't because we don't want to deal with it until that date; it is because we can't actually submit any claims to O2 until that date and this is a condition specified by them and not us.

Once we reach the 30th April, we will automatically take your claim off ice for you and then submit it to the merchant with our next batch. You will receive notification emails advising you of this, and any time we have an update we will also notify you.

When we have submitted your claim, it will be up to the merchant to match your click from our site with a transaction from their site, and as long as they can see that your transaction came from us and not another source and that your contract is still in force, they should be able to reach a decision fairly easily.

I would suggest that you keep this enquiry thread open so that if you have any questions in the meantime, you can easily contact us and we can provide you with a further update. Please try not to add comments to your Claim form as this can hinder the process of us submitting it to the merchant.

Please let me know if any of the above doesn't make sense, as I realise there is quite a lot of information there

I've had transactions through Topcashback which tracked and yet were refused payment for no valid reason whatever. I always clear my cookies etc but it counts for very little. Presumably those who pay Topcashback for advertising are all important to them and their members are far less important.

I have been using Quidco for 4 years and have had £1585.00 paid out. The only problem I have had is a MoreThan £80.00 from last October that is still showing as tracked only. However I have read on other threads that MoreThan take time to pay. So I would say use Quidco

O2 are happy to talk to you about everything by email EXCEPT to cancel, where they want you to ring them on an 0870 number (or free from the SIM card you haven't activated and want to return).
