Hello
I repeat....
Ignoring the state of the house; is it really reasonable for a child to travel that distance twice a day when you can afford local good childcare?
it would never have worked mum coming over. her time keeping is appauling and we would have been late for work every week i could feel it.
The 60 mile trek was motorway so takes 45 mins approx. She slept both ways so not really an issue. Also, if anything happaned, I could get to her from work within 10 mins0 -
where they clean and tidy as you were growing up? if not then I think you should have know that they wouldn't change. if they weren't hygienic for their own kids then I'm sad to say they wouldn't be for Grand kids either.:j £2 coins = £2.00 :j0

Or is it reasonable for a child to do a round trip of 120 miles once a week to maintain contact with its grandparents??0 -

oddly enough when i was growing up the house was immaculate and I got a wallop for driopping crumbs on the floor.
i dont think 45 mins twice ina day once a week is OTT. She never complained and slept all the way most times.0 -
Evidently 120 miles a day was fine for this little one.
I don't get your gripe.
120 miles, broken up into two 45 minute trips once a week, is no big deal, especially if it is with the expectation of quality time with the family.
My children were just like henpecked's child - they nodded off 5 mins into the journey and had to be woken up at the end, none the wiser.0 -

That about sums it up!
You think you are too good for them but how awful must they have felt to have you change your name because you were ashamed of them!
Good grief, I think I've heard it all now!0 -

You and your parents must live right aside the only motorway that never has queues then!0
