Just kicked other half off of our wired PC so I can look at it from there so I know what I am telling you one way or the other,
Go to Control Panel/Network and Sharing ..... yet again it should show you a diagram on the second line there should be something like Network and underneath Public Network in blue click that then select home network and we should be in business.
Trying to diagnose with a bad memory is not my forte
The park bench jogged my memory a bit 4.8kWp 12x400W Longhi 9.6 kWh battery Giv-hy 5.0 Inverter, WSW facing Essex . Aint no sunshine ☀️ Octopus gas fixed dec 24 @ 5.74 tracker again+ Octopus Intelligent Flux leccy0 -

Yes , If you have only one Windows 7 PC in the house then you don't need to set up a homegroup , and can share printers if you wish i.e. with sons lappy if you wish , also public documents.oh gosh must have been on here too long - clicked on start - control panel and it came up with adjust your computer settings in the network and internet section it has 3 options

Well at least it's no longer a modem.
Did you say in your original post that this has originally worked on the desktop PC under Win 7? If so has anything changed since? Antivirus/firewall software etc."A nation of plenty so concerned with gain" - Isley Brothers - Harvest for the World0 -
