  • Does anyone know if you can get a new phone when you have to sign up to a further 12/18 months with orange on this offer?
  • I think you should upgrade ur phone first then call up a few days later and switch to an 18month contract with free broadband.

I've been with Wanadoo/Freeserve/Orange for years, but when I moved house a year ago it was a nightmare. Broadband stopped a week before my move, not reconnected on new number for a further 3 weeks, charged £30 transfer fee + normal monthly unlimited access charge + cost of payg dialup while waiting for broadband. Moving again soon, and seriously considering cancelling and moving to another provider. Has anyone had recent experience?

    Hi,

    My mobile:
    Carphonewarehouse
    Vodafone network
    Contract expires begin august

    Tarif:
    £30pm
    200 mins
    plus £3pm with 50 txts.

I recently tried Martins advice and tried to haggle my through to a better deal. After speaking to their retentions deptmnt their best offer was for me to stay on my same tariff with £150 cashback and a new phone. I don't feel that this is a particularly good deal.

I currently don't have broadband at home (surf at work :D ) but we have decided to take the plunge and go for it.

    So here are my questions:

    1. I've never had BB at home will there be any connection charges etc and would I need to purchase boxes etc (can u tell, I'm rather clueless!!)

    2. I was considering the CPW Talk Talk package but I saw an advert in the Metro for the Orange dolphin package offering something like 1000txts and about 600mins plus free BB for £30pm.

    3. If I go for either of the above deals my monthly expenses are as follows:
    Orange
    Mobile contract - £30 (1000txts & about 600 mins)
Landline - zero (have free eve/wkend calls with Primus...thanks Martin!)
    BBand - Zero
    BT - £11.50
    Total: £41.50pm

    CPW TT
    Mobile contract - £30]
    Landline - £14.99
    BBand - Zero
    BT - £11.50
    Total - £56.49

    4. The Orange deal obviously looks better to me, is therre anything I haven't thought of?

Thanks for taking the time to read and reply.

    Have a brilliant day:T

Just remember that the 'free' Orange broadband has a usage limit of 2GB per month and if you use more, you will have to pay!

Thanks, I have considered that and it suits our requirements at this stage as we will mainly be using it to do stuff like internet banking, searching for holidays etc at weekends.

OK, just making the point that you need to compare like with like!

    1) There are no connection charges and all the equipment you need will be sent to you free of charge.

    2) Sounds like a good deal.

    3) The free BB offer includes the Orange Broadband Wireless Livebox which gives you wireless internet access as well as a second VoIP line which also gives you free evening and weekend calls.

    4) Doesn't look like you have missed anything :)

You DON'T have to pay, you are sent a letter if you go considerably over your usage allowance asking you to consider reducing your usage or encouraging you to upgrade to the unlimited package :)

Which amounts to the same thing! A 2GB limit is pathetic, and if you want to use more, you have to pay for it!
