I did not think that it would happen to me. I had already closed the account and because i worked for Halifax in the estate agents I did not think that they would be happy as an ex employee but I HAVE

I did have to file with MCOL but I recieved a letter without admission blah blah blah

only £1490 but that is still the total amount plus interest and court fees. It is going straight into ISA

    Thanks MARTIN

    Bank: Barclays
    Amount Reclaimed:£2160
    Amount Recieved: £1511

    The story:

Sent off for my statements on 01/03/07. Sent LBA letter to Barclays on 19/04/07. I recevied 2 letters from barclays saying that they needed extra time, and received a letter from them on 23/05/07 offering £1511. As I couldn't afford to take them to court anyway I am thrilled with this offer.

best of luck to everyone - it does work

    Claimed back ......£1622.66p - ( £ 1208.00 + interest £ 294.66 + court fee £ 120.00)

They offered final settlement of £440 twice and I refused

    deemed served on 05/05/07
letter saying they were paying up - 26/05/2007

    won...................£1622.66

This morning I received 2 letters from Capital One - first one said final offer was £440 - no way would they offer any more it was FINAL - also enclosed was an acceptance form . 2nd letter I opened said they are correct in applying their charges - blah blah.... but as a goodwill gesture they were going to refund the total amount asked for - £1622.66p!
They say I need to write and inform court that they are paying up and to stop the case going any further... hmnnn...... think I'll wait until I have the cheque in my little mitts first . not that I dont trust them.......:T

Started the process 7 weeks ago for my son, claiming £870 in charges from Barclays, only needed to send 2 letters and HOORAY!! they have offered £650 which he has excepted, will be credied to his account in 10 days. This has made such a difference to my son finances. Thank you Martin you are a real GEM:beer:
  • Bank - HSBC
    Claimed Back - £1345
    Received (offer) - £1157

I started this process on 19/3/07 and got a reply saying it would be investigated 2 weeks later. Then on 19/4/07 I contacted them with the second letter adding that I hadnt had a satisfactory response and that I would take em to court etc......heard nothing so I checke out how much it would cost me to go to court and it was £120...so before I paid I called HSBC on 22/5/07 and was told by the Complaints Dept that they now HAVE to make me an offer as it has gone over the 8 week time frame allowed and that Id get a letter in the post within 10 days. Today I got the letter and I'm accepting! I have to send it back then should have money in account within 14 days! Sending it RECORDED on Tuesday.....dont trust them, would probably say it got lost and is outta the 10 days allowed or something!!

But I will update when I get it! Money will go towards a new car or the insurance!!
    xx

Thanx Martin - I really appreciate your help, have advised many people to try this. Luv Ya.x
