    Bank : Natwest
Amount Claimed : £1305 without interest
    Amount Offered : £1305

I had been messed about by Natwest since March and had received 2 letters saying that they were investigating my claim and made several phone calls etc.

Finally emailed Michael Duncan (Royal Bank of Scotland CEO's right hand man) and within 7 days of receiving the response from his office saying they were looking into it for me I had an offer from Natwest for the full amount.

I have included some usefull contacts below that you may find helful when wanting to get updates on your claims etc.

Apparently Elliot Porte is in the department that actually make the offers and he the letter that I received told me that if I wished to discuss the offer I should call him.

I did call him, but only really to say that I thought there letter was funny how they babbled on about not being in the wrong and being perfectly secure in the knowledge that they had done nothing wrong and he even stated on the phone that he thought the bank would win in court. I said it doesn't really matter seeing as you have shown your cowardess by paying up instead of joining me in court if they were so confident. I just wanted to gloat a bit really.

Anyway thats one down....several to go...Thankss to all the help and advice on this site so far...

Well I checked my bank account yesterday and there were 2 payments totaling £2049. I got my letter today explaining breakdown.

I went via mcol and the total was £2989 inc interest. The halifax have said its not commercially viable to go to court blah blah but they will defend if I dont accept the offer.
To be honest I tried to claim back money over the 6 year limit and the amount they have put in my account is within pounds of what they would have paid if they had responded to my first request for a refund. So Im happy with offer, relieved its over and glad my account hasnt been closed.

Thank you so much Martin and everyone for contributing to this site.

    Amount claimed: £590
    Amount offered: £535

My first claim was rejected, so I sent a second letter saying I would now consider court action but might accept an offer of a settlement. Got a second letter from the bank on Saturday (19 May) offering us £535 in full and final settlement.

Our charges were actually £485 and the other hundred odd pounds claimed was interest, so the offer of £535 is not a bad compromise.

Thanks for the templates and advice, and good luck everybody else!
  • claimed £3400 including interest.
got a really long winded letter back explaining why they did not owe me a penny.
then at the end as a gesture of good will offered £2683.00
could maybe have pushed for the full amount but can't really turn that much down.
am now going for my 2 other bank accounts

Judge awarded me everything.i cant wait to go in to Barclays tomorow and shut down all my accounts.

The judge interestingly told me this cant go on for much longer, somethings got to give, so if your still thinking about it.........think quick!!!
