Mint Credit Card
Amount claimed £383 inc int & MCOL fee
Amount repaid £383
Took 10 weeks from 1st letter requesting statements. Took them to court through MCOL. meanwhile they twice offered me £101 as the difference between the £25 charge and the £12 charge they are "allowed" to apply. Ignored them twice. Got the cheque for the full amount yesterday with the standard letter threatening to close the account ifwe dont like the charges. Obviously haven't realised the account is already closed!

Just to reassure people:
Natwest are still coughing-up - eventually. They took it to the wire - cheque for £4,200 from bank and snotty letter from Cobblers both arrived day before court hearing, but the fact of the matter is they climbed down in humiliating defeat. Naturally the cheapskates short-changed me by about £130 interest up to the payment date;, which amount I will now claim for.
Natwest has now been dismissed - it's quite difficult to do as they are totally incompetent in this matter as in everything else, but you have to persist and insist that you have fired them by amending their closure request form to suit.
I also now plan to switch out my credit card and car, busines and home insurance having previously repaid mortgage and bank loan - not going to send another penny of business in their direction. Reasons given: bank's greed, incompetence and stupidity. Suggest copying your dismissal letter to Chairman so he knows what a complete load of bankers they are.
Many thanks to Martin et al now that I am finally free of their evil clutches.0 -
Claimed £954
Claimed further £618 for charges incurred whilst original claim ongoing.
Total: £1572
Returned acceptance form and claimed further £618 in charges incurred whilst original claim ongoing.
7 days later heard nothing.
Phoned them on Friday 18th May - they said would take another 7 days to re-credit the original claim and they would look at additional claim.
I said not acceptable amd demanded at least the £911 to be credited immediately. I was told that was not possible.
I said not good enough and wanted to speak to a supervisor.
I was put on hold for 5 mins and then told a total of £1508 had just been credited to my account.
I checked online and it was true!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
RESULT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THANKS TO MARTIN FOR THE ADVICE AND DIRECTION AND TO EVERYONE WHO POSTED ON THIS SITE

Bank: Halifax Plc
Amount Reclaimed: £1442.64 (inc £192.64 interest)
Amount they paid: £1442.64 (plus £120 court fee)
The story: I wrote the first letter on March 6th and went as far as Claiming via Money Claim website, which they threatened to defend. Yesterday we received a letter stating that they would reimburse the full amount, although without admitting liability!! Now waiting to hear froms Lloyds TSB.....!
THANKS TO MARTIN FOR THE ADVICE AND DIRECTION AND TO EVERYONE WHO POSTED ON THIS SITE.0 -
Amount claimed: £2881 + £372.77 int
Amount refunded: £3027
7 days after serving Court Claim received offer from NatWest. Lightbulb moment was when I realised my overdraft was smaller than the charges I'd paid over the last 6 years! FIrst letter sent requested refund of just charges, 2nd letter requested charges + interest, court claim was charges + interest + court claim fee, so guess the settlement lies somewhere in between.
The moral is Don't Give Up! Its the nicest letter you'll ever get off your bank, and measurable in how many times you jump up and down with joy. Wouldn't have done it without this website. Sincere thanks. They even provided a reply paid envelope to sent the offer acceptance back in. Bless.
