Amounts - totalling £671 (includes court fees of £60)
Stage paid - issued MCOL and acknowledged. offers about 7 days before the end of the 28 days to defend - on MCOL one of them had issued a defence, but offered to pay almost immediately.

Have already also successfully reclaimed £820 from First Direct, BOS and GE Money

Thank you ! Thank you ! Thank you !

If I had not heard Martin on radio 2 I would never have claimed my charges back. I think you deserve to be knighted (Sir Martin :money:) for helping so many people get out of debt and hopefully keeping them out of debt.

    Claimed;£836.60 + £80 Court charge =£916.60
    Recieved £916.60

Sent letters as per Consumer Action Group, filed claim with MoneyClaim - received notice of intent to defend, and Court Allocation Questionaire - paid additional Court Allocation fee £80 then received letter from banks solicitors offering part settlement of just over half of full amount. Thought no I want the full amount then started to get court bundles ready for court. To my surprise! yesterday I recieved a letter from Abbey ready to settle the full amount out of court for claim and court costs.

Very Happy! Good luck to everybody else! :j

    Bank: HSBC
Amount Reclaimed: £4279.77 inclusive of interest
    Amount they paid: £3500
    The story:
I used my online banking access to see my old statments. I used the bank charges interest calculator to find out the total charges over the last 5 years as 6 years would have taken me over £5000.
I sent the first letter on 15 March 07. I called to confirm receipt and I was told that responses can take up to 8 weeks from the date of receipt.
I called again the day after 8 weeks was up and I was told the case would be esculated. I said I'd be writing again.
Yesterday (Thursday 17 May 07) I received an offer of £3500.
    I am accepting.
I am now one step closer to debt free living.
    Yea baby :D
THANK YOU MARTIN & EVERYONE ELSE FOR YOUR ADVICE.
WITHOUT YOU, NONE OF THIS WOULD BE POSSIBLE!

Amount Received: £3303.65... WOO HOO :j

It took a couple of months but they finally paid up with a couple of days left before they had to submit a defence.

Thank you so so much to Martin and everyone else on this site... I would not have had the courage to take it to MCOL without you.

Not as much as I could have got if I had gone to court but not a bad return considering it cost me less than £2 to do!!!!!!!!!!

I am thrilled to bits and am blowing it all on a luxury holiday. I'll be thinking of you all when I am sipping cocktails by the pool!:rotfl:
