I got pretty lucky with this.
Requested statements 19th Feb, sent 1st letter end March, got reply saying no, filed with MCOL on 4th April, Acknowledged on 20th, failed to defend, got judgment 9th May
Then put pressure on SC&M, sent a faxed letter 15th May demanding they pay by this Friday (i.e. tomorrow), heard nothing so today rang and asked what was happeninig, said id have money in 5 working days, got girls name, and followed call up with another faxed letter to them stating that in this case i was willing to extend the payment term to a further 5 days and expeect the money in my account by next thurs at latest as per tel convo with XXXX at 2.40pm today blah blah - got home tonight checked online banking and money has been put in.
Can not belive it - i know ive been lucky and had easy route - i just wish all the friends ive made on here could have the same luck. Thanks to everyone for all your help.
If anybody has judgment and is waiting for money just pm me your email address and i'll send you copy of letters i sent - im lucky my good friend works in a solicitors so advised me on what banks can and cant do once you have judgment - lloyds especially try and pull wool over peoples eyes. if you have judgement they must whistle to YOUR tune - remember that.
I cant thank this page enough - its amazing and has just about been my life for the last 2/3 months - cheers mates

Bank: Lloyds Tsb
Total Claimed: £430 (inclusive of interest)
Paid out: £698
Thank you very much, received after the second letter. What would we do without you!! :beer:0 -
Bank: Lloyds TSB
Amount requested: £286
Amount refunded: £285
Date refund requested: 8th March 2007
Date of refund: 17th May 2007
I initially received the standard letter like many people seem to receive, justifying the charges, but when I threatened court action they again re-iterated that they believe their charging system is fair, but then said that although they do not generally agree to adjust any of their charges they are prepared to repay £285 in full and final settlement of my complaint. Obviously, as this was only £1 less than what I requested, I am more than happy to accept!!
Mine was only a small amount in the scheme of things, which is perhaps why it didn't get to court, but it goes to show it is definitely worth pursuing a refund on bank charges. Thanks to this site and Martin Lewis for giving me the confidence to go for it !!0 -

Bank: first direct
Amount Reclaimed:3500.00
Amount they paid:2975.00
The story: i rang up and asked if they charged for sending list of charges and they said its free just write in. Wrote in and received bank statements within a few days.went through statement and the whole lot came to £3500.00. wrote letter back asking for the lot back. I expected a fight as this is a closed account but i still owed them £570.00 on the account (overdraft)which had been passed to a debt agency whom i was paying back £10.00 per month. Got the letter back today offering a payment of £2975.00 in full and final settlement which includes £570.54 to pay off the debt i owe them.
THE WHOLE THING FROM START TO FINISH TOOK 4 WEEKS AND COST ME A
1ST CLASS STAMP. I know people will say i should fight for the whole lot but i am happy to accept the offer and it means not only am i nearly £2300.00 better off but ONE MORE DEBT HAS NOW BEEN PAID.
THIS SITE HAS CHANGED MY LIFE. I am now proud to be clearing ALL MY DEBTS and i am following the advice. (i no longer have an overdraft and avoid charges if i can help it.) my thanks to martin the money saving expert whose speeches on GMTV inspired me to do this. THANKYOU.....on to the next bank now....0 -
i accepted 1080 instead off 1260 but i was delighted money i thought that was gone forever. well done to you0
