I settled on their second offer as I had something in mind for the money and was willing to give up a couple of hundred quid in return for getting the money quickly so I'm well happy.

The day it was refunded though I rang the bank and mentioned the 3 charges that were added this month totalling another £90 and I had them refunded straight away no question too.

I accepted this offer as the money was useful at that time, and the difference wasn't that large (once interest taken off) - AND I have a further 3 accounts which I am currently in the Small Claims Court process with. Waiting on over 6k charges- fingers crossed.

It can be fiddly, it can be a little nerve wracking when the bank letters come through ...but these sites are invaluable to let you know that everyone is going through the same thing!

Have followed the information on this site and did not submit papers to the court. Wrote the two letters to the bank asking for my money back. After this I telephoned Halifax on another matter and when I goit through to the operator they answered my query and then stated that my complaint was being dealt with and I would have response the next day - received a letter few days later offering me £2416, I telephoned them as I had claimed £3077 - said to hold a minute and then stated that they would pay the full amount which was credited in CASH to my account yesterday. I urge anyone to do this and claim what is rightfully yours.

Now I can do the bedrooms for the children properly so they are happy!:rotfl:

i have just got myself £1538.00 in charges back from the HALIFAX! I sent them a total of 3 letters. One asking for my statements, then one asking for the charges plus the interest (£1460.00 plus £306.74 in interest)
They replied saying i could have £769 which they then paid into my account within 3 days of that letter!! I rang telling them i wouldn't accept and sent a letter recorded delivery saying i wanted the full amount and wouldn't accept this £769 in my account.
Had a phone call with the person dealing with my case at Halifax. He attempted to railroad me I refused his offer of 769 and within a breath he said they would pay me £1538.00! I accepted and am very happy. It has helped us out so much.
Whole process took approx 3 months.

I Just want to say a big thanks to all those who post useful information on this board. Without your help I would not have received £3141 in the bank today from Lloyds tsb. Keep up the good work guys (and ladies)!!!:money:

Took a while, but fair play to Marbles, no hassle, no stress, just a couple of letters which ended in this fantastic result.

I've just received my letter to confirm £5,289.94 will be in my account within 5 days.
I started my request for statements on 13 February 2007 and had a reply on 14 March 2007 advising that they have 8 weeks to reply to my claim, however as 4 weeks had already passed they confirmed that a reply would be received in 4 weeks. But 5 weeks later no reply and after calling them and waiting on the phone for 20 minutes the call was eventually answered and cut off before I could ask a question. I issued a claim with Moneyclaim that cost £250.00, they had 14 days to reply but advised they would be defending the claim so that gave them another 14 days to reply. On the 25th day before Judgement could be entered they sent a letter advising that the Court costs would be too much to defend even if they won, so they are paying up in 5 days....:rotfl:

After this message was left... noticed bank balance increased...money in my account within 1 day of receiving letter!!!..

Martin is a star!!!...now going to look at the Credit Cards
