Well maybe conceded is the wrong word...

We had an offer from Barclays of 3,150 (from a claim of 4,350)
After a long chat with the other half we decided that the money would pretty much be a god send for us at the moment and would really help us get back on our feet
Im sure if we had held on we could have got more from Barclays, but weighing up getting the cash which is needed now or waiting a potential 2 more months for another grand or so, taking the money was the best option

Thanks all for people advise and information on this site :T
Would not have got what we did if it wasnt for you

Good luck with those that still have o/s claims

    Cheers
    James

    Bank - Barclays
    Claim - 4,350
    Settled amount - 3,140

    First letter sent on 26/03
    Settlement agreed on 10/05

We decided to take the cash as opposed to fighting on as we needed the money sooner rather than later ... still very happy and a big two fingers to Barclays Bank :D

    Thanks all :j
  • The Woolwich/Barclays Bank Charges Victory!!!

I was charged £2910 over six years of banking with the Woolwich and now Barclays.

Thanks to this web site and the info and pre written letters on it i managed to claim back £2414, which as far as i am concerned is a result!!!

Everybody should do it then banks may reduce their charges down to an acceptable level, this is people power guys so get involved.

Did i mention that the banks made 6Billion + profit last published figures it makes you wonder how much of that came from ripping us off??

Lets stick it to the faceless corporations ripping us off.

HSBC- I claimed £1716 on behalf of my son, they wasted weeks asking for trivial info (which they already had) or ignoring letters, but as I am a 'saddo' I kept all his statements when he tried to throw them out- gave HSBC chapter and verse as requested they eventually offered £1545 which he was happy to accept. So thank you 'St. Martin'. Perserverence is vital [together with your templates!!!] thank you
  • Hello
Thanks to Martin for this great web site.
Finally, after writting 4 letters and threatening to go to the ICO LLoyds TSB provided me with all of my bank statements over the last 6 years as well as a full 'goodwill!!!!' refund, which was put immediatley into all my accounts, ( about £800 in total)
I had to fight to get the statements but after that I was suprised as I didn't need to go any further, LLoyds TSB refunded me without even having to request this.
    Thanks again!
