    Bank: Barclays Bank plc
    Amount Reclaimed:£601.32 (Charges + interest)
Amount they paid:£700 (charges, interest (updated to date of offer) + court fee)
    The story:

Vanman (another MSE poster) noticed a correlation between the date he sent in his court bundle and the date he got the settlement offer so prompted me to send my bundle in even though the court date isn't til 6th June. So:

    16th April 07 - Court bundle sent
    26th April 07 - Letter received offered £681.32 (charges, interest & £80 fee)
29th April 07 - Emailed Barclays to say I expect the interest to be updated to the date of their offer (equivalent to c£20) but suggested £700 settlement
2nd May 07 - Barclays accepted my suggestion, revised their offer and I accepted it.
3rd May 07 - money due in the account - I wait with baited breath!

My advice is if your at the stage when you've been directed by the court to send them and Barclays the documents you seek to rely on in court - do it sooner than later!!!

I am often logged into the Barclays thread (below) so if you have any questions for me, post them on there!

    Bank: Alliance & Leicester
    Amount Reclaimed: £71
    Offer: £71

Last year I mistakenly transferred money from my Premier Direct account, resulting in a temporary unauthorised overdraft when A&L took payment to a linked regular saver. They charged me £25 which I thought was excessive, but at the time, as it was my fault, I let it go.

2 months later they charged another 2 x £25 relating to the same problem. I asked for my £50 back which was repaid "as a goodwill gesture".

Then on reading the charges debate, I wanted a further refund. I waited until the regular saver matured. This morning I sent them an email requesting a £15 refund. They refused. I followed up with a demand for £21, including a chunk of Martin's court action template. Result: £21 repaid "as a goodwill gesture".

 Trying to sort out debt. All over the place!
    £2300 lloyds C/card, £2800 Barclays, £800 Halifax!!
    Halifax
First amount: £39 with interest £80
    Received: £80
    Still fighting!!

    My story
Sent letter for a fee from 2006 and they replied and sent letter offering the money after 4 weeks.Said in letter that I accept as full and final payment of fees on my account. Got a charge in 2007 January, Februay, March and April. Didnt know what they were for exactly. We moved in December and changed our address in branch. Their computer only changed the adress on one system and thats the reason for not receiving statements or notices of charges. Just charged us. Found out that they were for rent that was on standing order (we thought it was a direct debit). In January we moved the rent to another account and cancelled direct debit. They said they will do it but didnt tell us it is a standing order. So they did not do it anyway. Now being charged for being in overdraft. Not using the account at all anymore, moved to Lloyds but need to keep acc open to repay Halifax loan, but now they take the money we pay in for the loan to repay overdraft! Wrote two letters (from template) and didnt get response, phoned them and they said they will pay back the charges incurred. Did not do that.Got a letter ofcourse saying that in the last payment they made stated that it is full and final settement of charges on my account (knew they would say that). I replied that I did not receive notices or statmens so could not budget to make sure there were sufficient funds for fee's like they advised/asked.So went to money claim online and now waiting. Will NEVER stop until I get my money back!!!

Total new amount:£296 (with claim charges)
Will let you know how goes......[/QUOTE]
