    The story:
I went almost aall the way. I'd put the £120 in for the court application and had to have a reply by April 28th. On April 24th they put the full amount into my bank (minus the £479 that I was overdrawn in that account) meaning we are now £1089 in the black.

    Amount Claimed: £3555.00
    Amount Offered: £3293.00

I started my claim at the end of January this year and I received an offer from Halifax last week of less than half the amount I claimed, one simple 2 minute phonecall today and I was offered £3293.00!! I'm happy to take the small knock on the interest!

I'm thrilled to bits - these bank charges have crippled me over the last few years!!!

Thanks to Martin Lewis (my new hero) and everyone who's posted on the forums for the fantastic advice!!!:T :T

Best of luck to everyone who's claiming!!!!

Barclays didn't acknowledge our claim with small claims court so we applied for a judgment by default. This was over a month ago and i have had to do a lot of phoning as it seems Barclays tend to 'lose' a lot of paperwork! Finally got it all back today - they paid most of it on Friday but 'forgot' the court fees. 1 down, 2 to go!
  • Barclays
    Amount claimed £1481.92
    Amount Paid £910

    Barclays (for my husband)
    Amount claimed £1043.31
    Amount paid £630

Got offer after second letter. Happy with this as it was money we never expected to get back. Didn't close our accounts either. Finally got statements through for business acoount - claiming for that as well.

The story: After working out what they owed me I only had to send them one letter asking for the amount and telling them I would go to court if they did not pay. They sent me a couple of letters in between saying they were disapointed to hear my complaint and they were looking into it giving dates they would respond by. Then they just paid out! I had to sign a letter to say I wouldn't take them to court and that was that! I wrote in Feb and had the money by April.

I advise everyone to give it a go! It was easy!

    Thanks Martin!!

    Bank: NatWest
    Amount Reclaimed: £1455.17 plus interest
    Amount they paid: £1455.17

    The story:

I received my offer from NatWest this morning.
First letter sent on 10th April requesting £1455.17 plus interest.

Received letter from NatWest saying the usual (they were looking into it and would reply within 56 days).

Sent letter on 21st April saying not satisfied with response and would take to court if no reply within 14 days.

It worked, received letter today (dated 26th April), which I am accepting, offering £1455.17 which is the amount less interest.

All my letters were sent via the customer relations email address. customer.relations@natwest.com
Thanks for all the advice from everyone stating that you should stick to those deadlines, don't wait the 56 days. It worked for me, easiest money I've ever made and the whole process didn't even take a month.
