Nicolaj wrote:Could someone tell me please, my bank have charged me £25 for paying an item for me(many times over the years)...sometimes those items are only for a few pounds..
can I claim those back also?..does the item have to be a certain amount to justify the £25 charge..
Yes you can claim and no it doesn't have to be over a certain amount.0 -

Another quickie - my husband also banks (with an OD) with BOS - are they likely to ask him to go as well as me? Not that we really care, money-grabbing *^%"£ers, just want to know if another account is needed for him too?
Thanks for the great advice and replies on this thread.
Yes, this will be needed if it ends up going to court.
Your husbands account should be okay.0 -

Amount Claimed: £1900.50 + 8% Interest + £120 Court Fee
Amount Repaid: £2612.20
Well my full and final settlement arrived from DG Solicitors today offering exactly what I asked for! My advice DO NOT accept anything less than what you are claiming....they are paying out in full.
Happy Christmas all and Thanks Martin and Radio 2
Will be making a donation as soon as money appears in the bank.

Well HSBC ignored my first two recorded delivery letters so I set up my claim through MCOL, was rather pleased to see the 8% interest added at this point. I then received an offer of £1700 which I kindly rejected and then yesterday had the final offer which I have replied and accepted without accepting the offer of confidentiality.
My advice keep going and you will win.

In the same boat as the above really. Have sent off the court allocation but wondering what is happening next. Starting to woory, even though I "know" i shouldn't. There doesnt seem to be too much info on what happens after filling in the questionaire. Can anyone enlighten us? Am I gonna need to go to court (even if they don't show I presume I would need to go) or do they sometimes offer to settle out of court at this stage?
Thanks in advance.
Hi
Has anyone got any ideas on the above? The 2 posts above my original were also asking pretty much the same thing so any help would be of multiple use.
Cheers gain. And if, you know, your history...0 -
Cooperative Bank (aka Smile)
Paid out £1690.00
Hi There - just a small note to say thank you very much to the team at the site. :T
Because of you guys I recieved a deposit of £1690.00 into my account today. I initially contacted Smile back in August after a visit to the money saving site. They were a bit slow to return the information I asked for but after that they played pretty fair.
I only got as far as sending a letter requesting my money back before they coughed up. I had asked for interest (I was never that sure what I was doing with that to be honest) which they have not paid. However, they have paid every penny they originally took and I am more than happy with that.
They haven't asked me to close my account but they have reduced my overdraft limit. This could have been because I am now a student or it could be them being a little bit huffy... Bovvered?! Not really since I've now got the cash to not worry about an OD anyway.
Good luck to all and thanks again.

Im also still waiting for my bank statements, keep phoning up about them and i get really crap excuses like, its x-mas time so the post is slow, we dont have any details saying you ordered bank statments, we put it though the wrong system so we will have to do it again.
Also my girlfriend has asked to get statements from Halifax for her CREDIT card not bank card and they are saying she has to pay £5 PER statement0
