    :j Hi,

I sent off a letter to Studio Cards on April 16th requesting £60 of charges back, had a letter this morning basically saying they are reviewing their policy but as a goodwill gesture they have credited my account with £80...i think i mustve had a charge due to be put on or something.

    Every little helps eh!

    Studio Cards
    Claimed - £60
    Received - £80

    Wohooo  :j :A

Success number 2! Only another 4 to go, lol
  • Asked alliance & leicester to refund approx £2000 to compensate me for my charges , they refused as expected stating they were in my terms and conditions.I then skipped the other steps of claiming and took them to court using the moneyclaim website - the bank filed a defence then paid me up - including my interest and court fees - resulting in £2600 paid back to me , the only problem is they are now going to close the account . Hey they can close as many accounts as they like if they are gonna pay £2600 for the priveledge.
Thanks all for the help and advice - top website !

Hello all l sent the first letter then the second. There responce was they were fair charges. But reading what has happened to other people l would not let them keep my money. So l started the court process. They used up the 14 days then they used up the 28 days then put in a defence on the last day.l was not going to let them win that was my money.Any way they have payed out £1061.51p plus court costs which im over the moon with.So l can pay of some credit cards or council tax for the year.Im so happy but im not finished there my partner has fees to claim back.Thankyou martin lewis and every one who put there stories on here.l would not have known where to start.Nationwide like to drag there heals

    Martin,

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

I managed to claim back £1000 on my Bank of Scotland joint account and £1200 on my Bank of Scotland sole account.

    What a triumph.

Easy peasy to follow your advice and the whole process took about 6 weeks.

    Thanks again.

    Amount repaid already £460

  • Bank: Barclays

    Amount Reclaimed: £1,038.46

    Amount they paid: £1,038.46 (finally!!)

The story: I first started this back in November 2006. Got 6 years' worth of bank statements (with no resistance from bank) and trawled through to get claim amounts plus interest (using Martin's calculator). Launched action via Moneyclaim Online. Barclays offered £380 to settle but i refused.:money: Barclays waited until last possible moment to file Acknowledgment, and then similarly again last moment to file defence (back in January). Given a Hearing date at Reading CC on 27 April. On 26 April (today) I receive letter from Barclays offering the full amount! :money:
  • Thanks to help from this site I managed to reclaim my charges:

    Lloyds TSB
    950 pounds
    950 pounds

Took a while but I managed to get my charges back, about 6 weeks in total.
But the best thing is that they offered me 750 - which i accepted, but two weeks later they sent me another letter saying that they dont usally pay back charges but on this occasion they are going to offer me another 200 pounds, I think they may have got a little confused! I also got my sister to do it and she had her charges in a week! :rotfl: ! more fool them for sending me two payments!

    Do it reclaim the charges!!!!!

    Thanks Martin!:money:

Claimed £862 originally, got the usual 'get lost letters' plus a handy little leaflet telling me how to avoid charges in future.

    Went on MCOL, added interest
Nationwide filed a defence, giving them 28 days.
On the 27th day £1118.38 was deposited in to my account.

Stuck to all the letters and timescales reccommended by Martin

thanks so much to him, this site, and all the others on the forums who have supported each other!!:j :j
