    Lloyds TSB

    Amount Reclaimed: £35
    Amount Paid: £35

I claimed for my sister after Lloyds charged her for unpaid direct debit. I sent them a letter asking to refund the money as a goodwill gesture and after 4 weeks they did!

They sent a letter saying they will repay the money as a goodwill gesture BUT if it happens again they will not refund and that she should read her terms + conditions.

    Bank:Abbey (AKA Shabby)
    Amount Reclaimed:£3,703.65
    Amount they paid:£3,703.65
The story: Aren't Shabby a nightmare!! started process in jan, filed with local court in March, they acknowledged. on final date, i filed for judgment as heard nothing, week later got Judgment as Shabby failed to file defence in time. phoned them up over last couple of days, to ask when i will get my money, told they need to look into it, phoned again today telling them to get sorted or i will be sending in the bailiffs along with the Sun, the Mirror, The Express, the daily Mail....u get my drift, they asked me to fax copy of judgment and they will send out cheque within 7 days.

thanks everyone, this was one of my many claims, i have filed about 26 so far, only three of my own and others of friends and colleagues as their litigation friend, they have all received money and i am still waiting!

    Bank: Halifax
    Amount claimed: £542.72
    Amount received: £542.72

Well chuffed! Have just noticed full repayment (bank charges, interest and court claim fee) has gone into my account, only days after Halifax told me by phone and in a letter that refunding the bank charges alone - £436 - was its final offer (I refused it)! :D To get this far I had sent Halifax the first two form letters, filed a court claim online, and opened a parachute account. But it was all pretty painless and - ashamed to admit it (not!) - quite good fun :rotfl: Great site, thanksomuch Martin :money: and also Twinkly for reply to queries.

    My OH got:

    Bank: Coventry
    Amount Reclaimed: £109.53
    Amount they paid:£10.00
    The story:

One bank charge too many (for being 2p short of a £3 DD), so we sent a letter to them and within 2 weeks, they'd paid up.

Also got partial payment for our joint account, so will be writing to them again asking for the rest.

  • Hello everyone

I wrote to HSBC on 23 February 2007 to reclaim bank charges in the sum of £1723.00. I received a letter from them on 2 March 2007, to acknowledge receipt of my complaint and to say that they would investigate further then respond.

I received a letter from them today (18 April) offering me the sum of £1516.00 in full and final settlement, which I am going to accept.

    HOORAH!

I would urge anyone thinking of claiming to get their information together and get writing to the bank!!

    A&L
    Amount claimed £1300
Amount paid £1420 inc. court fee.

Reclaimed my mothers bank charges from A&L. Had to approach court before they took her seriously. They have told her they will be contacting her soon to discuss the account. Happy to move away from them anyway.

Thanks to all who have successfully claimed before, as it spured us on.

Thanks for the information on how to claim, the templates have saved us a fortune in solicitors fees!!

Great website, thank you to all who work on it.
