Started the Data Protection process back at the end of January; NW left it til the last minute to defend last week, but then credited my account today with more than I'd asked for - Presumably to cover the further charges they'd imposed since January!

Next up : Barclays; Barclaycard about to get their first letters; Capital 1 about to get a DP request...

The story:
Sent one letter requesting statements for 3 accounts. 6 weeks later 3 letters from RBS offering £3200 in total. Since no statements did not accept but requested statements, statements arrived and charges looked to be approx £3200 so settled.

Now going to diary interest payments so hopefully no more charges.

Used the process and the bank finally paid up. You have to be persistant, firstly they offerred £56, then 84 and finally £144. Had to chase them for they money, took three weeks for the money to be repaid. Funny that, they can take money out instantly. Yippee!!!!!!!!!!!

Fantastic news the Halifax have paid up.

Couldnt believe it i was just about to send my next letter adding on the interest and i got a phone call from their customer relations team. Did a little bit of haggling with them but got what i wanted in the end. Two weeks on and the money is sitting in my account.

After the BOS ignored my request for bank statements I contacted the Financial Ombudsman. At day 35 after two bogg standard letters the bank offered me a goodwill gesture of £1080.00. I phoned today and said this was not acceptable as I still did not have my statements. The advisor checked my file and stated my charges over the last 6years (SCOTLAND)??? are £1626.00. I said no thanks and that I was returning to the FOS. I was then asked what would be acceptable I said £1500 and he agreed. Thank you to everyone. I may well go after the Clydesdale now. My student O/D is at last paid.

Hi - Just to let every one know we claimed £2300 + interest from RBS, after just a couple of letters later , they just agreed to repay us! (Note - the letter clearly stated as a goodwill gesture and without any admission of liability!)
Now going for £3300 + Interest from lloyds TSB, we offered a settlement of £3000 Total, but they replied the charges were correct. So now taking to court- however they did then offer £750....too late Lloyds TSB! Will kkep you posted.

I helped my girlfriend claim back £3333 exactly. This was over 6 years and with interest from the Halifax.
They paid back wait for it a massive £33,333 :beer: They added an extra 3.... So she paid all here cards and overdraft off. leaving just short of 32k left, shes booked a holiday with the 2k and put the other 30k high interest account just incase they ask for it back. !! She will keep the interest if they do thou.
