First letter sent. I planned to wait 4 weeks, as I knew Natwest were behind, and couldn't physically cope with all the work.
1st April
Received offer of the full amount with the standard "we think the charges are fair" letter.

The whole amount is being credited to my account today. Yippee!0 -

have been claimimg back my charges from barclays and they just offered me £780 which i am accepting. i asked for £1000 so i am pleased with that.
also my husband was claiming back his charges from natwest we asked for £2200 and got it all back.
although we had to start court proceedings with natwest and the offer the first quote we asked for not the one with interest on but still pleased.
i think barclays has taken 6 weeks and natwest around 8. well worth doing.
good luck to everyone out there claiming back their charges
barclays was easy i phoned them they sent my statements(free) i sent 1 letter which they replied to and they asked for 4 weeks and at the end of the 4 weeks got my offer.
natwest wanted £5 per year for bank statements so i just wrote a letter and enclosed my £10 cheque for 6 years. i then had to send 2 letters and go through mcol but got there in the end0 -

Amount they paid: £110.80
Got to court stage and they defended but then got a letter from their solicitors a few days later offering full amount0 -
Bank: Halifax
Amount reclaimed: 452
Amount they offered: 491
First letter sent 22/2/07, then followed Martin's invaluable advice & pushed on with 2nd and 3rd letters, despite receiving their normal "we have 8 weeks response".
They offered me £312.00 which I thought of accepting til I logged back into this site and it made me realise you have to be strong & stand your ground with them! Rang them today and they offered me £452.00 but I pointed out that they'd charged me another £39.00 last week and I also wanted this back - no hassles, offered the £491.00 immediately!!
Have sent 3rd and final letters to Lloyds TSB for both mine & husbands accounts - will let you all know how I get on.
Martin you are a legend and I've passed this site on to many many friends & family!0 -
Bank: Barclays
Amount Reclaimed: £780
Amount Paid: £525
Hi It took me just over 5 weeks but they finally offered me £525 which I accepted. I accepted the offer as it was money I thought I would never see again and I have classed it as a bonus.
Anyone waiting on Barclays to pay out, just stay with it and continue with the process and time scales and they will pay.0 -

Amount Claimed: £800
Amount Paid: £600
Paid up straight away without an argument - I had miscalculated some of the fees and so the actual amount would have been about £650, so £600 was pretty good! Am recommending this site to everyone i know!
