£4955.50 claimed back from Lloyds TSB
:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Facts:
This was to claim back almost £90 a month they were charging me for going overdrawn and £30 for each DD or SO that failed. Sent the usual letter and got back a letter stating that their costs are listed and legal etc etc. Sent a second letter asking for full amount or I would take them to court - no response so went through MoneyClaim. Within days got a letter from court and it said that TSB would defend the case fully. About 14 days later I had the following message on Moneyclaim:
Defence
You are unable to take any further action online on this claim.
The Defendant disputes the whole amount you have claimed. Your claim cannot proceed online and will be transferred to the appropriate court for continuation. You will receive confirmation to where the claim has been transferred to shortly.
The next stage was to get all the information and statments to the courts (it was moved to Harrow Court) along with any responses from TSB (you will get a letter from the courts). Four days before the hearinggot a letter stating that although they can fully justify the costs it is not in their interest to go to court ETC ETC ETC ETC they offered me £3000 (I declined as the amount I was asking for was MY MONEY) Friday 24th Nov, got a letter stating that they will refund the full amount if I accept as final payment for all my TSB accounts (I have a credit card and loan). I did intend to get charges back from my card after this case but I was happy with £4K+ :rotfl:
DO NOT GIVE UP and TAKE IT ALL THE WAY.

Bank: Smile.co.uk
Amount Reclaimed: £612.09
Amount they paid: £612.09
The story:
1st letter sent on 16th Nov asking for charges to be repaid, Smile replied in a few days informing me they were looking into it, and then on 24th Nov refunded £612.09 to my account. I received a further letter to inform me they had reviewed my complaint and as a gesture of goodwill they refunded the money. Now I do have a reason to Smile :j0 -

Did they put up much of a fight or was it straightforward?******** Never be a spectator of unfairness or stupidity *******"Always be calm and polite, and have the materials to make a bomb"0 -
Dear Martin
Lloyds TSB
£3332.87 claimed, and
£3332.87 paid
Initially, they replied to my first letter on the stroke of 2 weeks, but when I initiated court action through Money Claims Online, ( very straightforward ), they went silent on me.
I applied for a judgement, and a week later, the full amount was deposited in my account, which I now intend to close. Non of this would have happened if I hadn't heard Martin on the Jeremy Vine programme, and now I have the money to begin a business opportunity I have been offered.
Total time elapsed about 4 weeks
I really can't thank you enough

Short Story. Wrote two letters pelim and lba. I did give them a little more time than I should because I didnt have the money for mcol. But patience is a virtue. Had two letters telling me they were looking into it. I checked our account today and there it is all £1570.00 of it given back. What a result
Mant thanks to this site and the consumer action group.

I am claiming back my charges from the Royal Bank of Scotland and also my wife's charges from the Clydesdale bank. I had to take both banks to the small claims court in Scotland, last week I received a full and final offer from the Clydesdale for £742. This is what I had claimed for. The Royal Bank I am still waiting to hear from and they have until 12th Dec before court proceedings start.0

Bank: LloydsTSB
Amount Reclaimed: £630
Amount they paid: £703.35 (includes court cost and 8% interest)
The story: They took me almost all the way, had court date as November 9th, received a few scare tactic letters from their solicitors. Just about to submit my case to the court (two weeks before the court date) and I noticed they paid the full amount into my account, never received any letter or correspondence. Happy days.0 -
