THANKYOU EVERYONE FOR YOUR HELP AND ALSO MARTIN
  • Bank: Alliance & Leicester

    Amount Reclaimed: £1645.00

    Amount they paid: £1765.00

The story: They settled within one week of acknowledgement from my small claims being issued.

I'd offered to settle for £1200.00 ohh dear :p

Thank you so much Martin & Members of this site for the easy to follow guide and the sound advice from all :T
  • HALIFAX PAID UP

Claimed through MCOL claimed issued 2/3/07 acknowledged 15/3/07

    Paid straight into account 28/3/07

    Amount claimed £2585
    Paid £2585
  • Bank: First Direct

    Amount Reclaimed: £215 + £1.49 interest, totalling £216.49

Amount they paid: £245 (additional £30 charge since letter on top of £215). They refused interest, but I'm not about to go to court for £1.49.

    The story:
I read the guide which Martin so kindly gave us all to read and decided to check it out and try and get back my money. I know it doesn't seem a lot, but £245 is a lot for a student budget.

I only needed to write one letter which they responded with a standard reply, and then they sent me another saying they accept no liability but due to "commercial considerations" *ahem, what rubbish* they will pay up.

I didn't even need to issue a claim online.

Just in case you're wondering, you can claim for BOTH the excess overdraft fee and the overdraft fee with First Direct.

    Thanks Martin!
  • All in all, as of today I have reclaimed £3500.00

Definately worth sticking with it. Ignore the letters to compromise etc, and get YOUR money back. Act now before doors start closing or banks find a way out.
  • Claim £4999.00
    Received £5119.00 including court costs A & L

One week after receiving acknowledgement from small claim court I received cheque in post yesterday for £5119.00 from A& L. I am over the moon.

Thank you Martin could not of done it without this site.

    Bank: HSBC
    Amount Reclaimed: £973
    Amount they paid: £825

It's easy, eveyone has to do it. Three maybe four letters, a small amount of time and the money is yours, just follow the guide and don't be afraid to threaten court action. Also, keep on top off your dates, if you've said 14 days and there hasn't been a response move to the next phase, they'll soon pay up. The guy I spoke with at HSBC's Service Quality Team was avctually helpfully!:T
  • Bank: Woolwich aka Barclays
    Amount Reclaimed: £1290
    Amount they paid: £1260

Oh my word! I never thought I would be posting this thread. Today on returning from work I had a letter from the Woolwich offering said amount.
After just two letters they had until today as the original date quoted to look into my query.

Huge thanks to Martin, his team and follow claimants, without who I wouldn't have had the guts to go for it.
