  • advice please! cap1 have credited my account with £136 ( claim was for £400 + interest. when wording LBA I have said I accept £136 in partial payment. Do I then say I intend claiming full amount in court or I intend claiming the remainder of my claim. Just not sure about the wording - sorry for being a bit dense but want to get it right.
Thanks to anyone who can help

Just to let you all know I have just got judgement by default from Barclays! They acknowledged my claim but never defended it! How do I request they pay by cheque because the bank account is closed? Do I write to my local branch who I used to use?

Well I did until they later filed a defence! I now have my allocation questionnaire that I have hopefully filled in correctly from reading info on here. Can I just confirm that I send a copy of the calculator off here with the questionnaire?
  • Hi everyone

I've been fascinated reading this site over the last couple of weeks and must say that the information and helpful and supportive responses given here has really inspired me to get on with persuing all the money I've been charged.

I am really nervous about doing it as I have racked up loads of charges over the years and had some refunded.

I got my 6 years statements back from Natwest dating back to Jan 2001. I quickly set about going through them and adding the interest using the calculator on this site.
I sent in letter rec delivery on 13 March, requesting refund of £3003 + £775.98 interest ...included a list of charges (left out the ones I've had refunded), date, total & interest, but didn't list the reasons for the charges.

I included the Jan & Feb charges in my calculations.
At the time I didn't realise that they are outside the 6 year time limit.

I got the dates of the monthly Adv Gold fee mixed up as well, taking off £9 when it had gone up to £10 as it's lumped together with the unarranged borrowing fees - then calulated the rest as a charge.

I just wanted to ask whether I would need to redo it all and recalculate the total & interest?
Should I send in ammendments now, or wiat til they respond.
Will these errors affect my claim if this should go to court?

Sorry if these questions are answered elsewhere I've been reading through... I'm just worried that these mistakes will affect my claim.

If anyone could advise me I'd be really grateful.

I have sent my calculator form off to the court with the questionnaire showing what each individual charge is for. You may have read in an earlier article i posted today that Barclays say they didnt know what the charges were for. Well the judge will see even if they are so thick or blind that they cant!!:D
