I got a letter today from the bank,(Royal Bank Of Scotland) saying they'll pay out the £723 I asked for.
I only sent the letter last monday so I'm surprised how quick a response I got. All I need to do now is send the letter back accepting it.
Thanks to everyone on this site. :T0 -

Bank: HSBC
Claimed : £566
Paid: £ : £469
Wrote initial letter four weeks ago. Had two acknowledgment letters saying they were looking into the matter and would respond shortly. Today received offer of £469 which I will accept. They refused to pay the interest I added using Martin's calculator but I'm more than happy with that!!
Cheers Everyone!:beer:0 -

Bank: Royal Bank of Scotland
Amount reclaimed: £1620
Amount paid £1620
RBS paid up 5 years of charges after my first letter. I was very nervous about the whole thing partly because I used to work for them and partly because I have banked with RBS for 17years. Two weeks in total from letter to money going back in to account.0 -
Bank - Halifax
Claimed - £30
Paid - £30
I know this is a small amount but I wanted to try and be nice to them first. I explained that it was a one off & asked them to exercise discretion as we were good customers, well funded account, etc. etc. They agreed to refund the amount - no problem. So people PLEASE before you get medieval on their !!! try to appeal to their better nature. Even banks must have one! By the way, no I don't work for a bank!!!

Claimed: £498.27
Refunded: £498.27
They ignored the first two letters so I was meticulous in sticking to my deadlines.
2 days after acknowledging my online claim they paid up with the caveat that they are to review the future operation of my account. Sounds like a threat to close it.
Just checked my internet account and they have placed two further charges of £25 to be debited on 6th April - looks like the merry go round starts over again!!
