  • Just has to write to say how easy it was to claim!!!!!

I used the letters on this web site and posted them - recorded delivery (worth it for £1.00) :D

Got a letter from Barclays with an offer of £3190 - which was all the money without interest, not going to push it so accepted, the only thing that I noticed was that I had the letter was dated the 17th (do banks work a saturday?) but the post date was the 20th, and they gave me seven days to respond (very naughty). I sent the letter back today via special next day delivery £4.10 but worth it if I have the money in the bank within 10 days - Credit card paid off and new bedroom furniture - debt free and house finished.I can't tell you how happy I am:rotfl:

I still can't beleive how easy it was to get our money back and can't thank Martin Lewis & everybody who's posted information on this site

    A BIG THANK YOU!!:j

  • I reclaimed on behalf of my son, who has been quite poor at managing money in the past.It took 2 letters, and a chat with the financial ombudsman-but LLoyds TSB have just repaid 750 pounds back into his account. Many thanks Martin Lewis(21stC Robin Hood or what?) and Co, plus all the encouraging stories and advice I got from this site
  • BANK: Halifax
    Amount reclaimed: £537
    Amount repaid: £537

Hi, just to say thank you Martin for all your advice on reclaiming back charges. I sent out the first letter to my bank & i had a reply within 2 days saying that they were looking into it. After 13 days i had another reply offering 'as a token gesture' my charges + interest repaid back into my account within 14 WORKING days. On the 14th day the money was in my account. My charges were a drop in the ocean to them, but to me it means i can take my kids on holiday this year (im a single parent). My charges were only incurred over about a year when i was ill & on the verge of a breakdown, i had £120 charges in just 1 month, EXTORTION!!! Thank you so much. :T
  • CO-OPERATIVE BANK
    £3521.00
    £3521.00
Wrote to Co-Operative bank on the 5th March got funds into my account
    21st March.
  • Bank: The Co-operative Bank

    Amount requested: £1513.50 + interest
    Amount paid: £1374.50

Thanks so much to this site. I waited 3 weeks to get my list of charges from the bank. I then sent the 1st template letter on 8th March to request the full amount. I had a letter back a week ago saying they were investigating and then this morning I logged into my bank account to find £1374.50 named as Adj Commission. I'll probably get a letter from the bank soon to inform me of this etc.....

To be honest I'm happy - it's only just over £100 less than what I requested. I would urge anyone to do this - it's a wonderful feeling to get your money back again!

Again, thank you so much to Martin!!!
  • Nationwide just settled £723.39 out of court, brilliant..Its the full amount!

Thanks martin and everyone else for their help.
  • Natwest-Claimed £3008 plus interest+court fee

Accepted offer £2190-waiting for money to go into my account

Took from the 15 december, bit of a mess mine really!

Sent first two letters, had one letter saying they were looking into it and would receive a response in 8weeks. As 8 weeks came and went referred to small claims court cost £120. Week later received above offer from natwest.
Thought as i had already spent £120 would stick out the small claims route.
Then Natwest acknowledged claim so then had to wait 14 days for next stage. Then Natwest solicitors defended claim saying my defence was an embarrasment( i have to agree all i input on small claims site was Re-claiming bank charges) and i would need to rectify this if it was to go any further. All the while ive got red letters for bills and car tax due...everyone knows that one!!

So accepted Natwests original offer of £2190 which im very happy with and cant wait to treat myself ;) and pay the bills of course!
