BanK: Natwest
Amount Reclaimed: £8450
Amount they paid: £5837.03
Amazing!! im not proud of having to reclaim back so much in the first place, but can remember years back feeling depressed because natwest were having a field day making so much money out of me! One month the thieves took out a total of £750!! Anyway got to the "see ya in court" letter stage and they surprisingly coughed up an offer of 5837.03. Lets just say that i quickly replied the acceptence form afterall i might as well take the money and run!

HSBC bank
Amount claimed £768
Amount received £768
Wrote to the bank as advised. Received letter back advising they would look into my claim. Didn't hear anything for a couple of weeks so wrote them letter number 2. As predicted by Martin they wrote back with a standard letter advising 'they did not feel it would benefit anyway by going through the courts blah blah'.
Keep pushing, keep claiming and following Martin's format. :money: To date I have claimed back over £1000 from only two banks. Gonna hit the credit cards now.
Nuff respect Martin. :A My brother in law got me started and I will continue to spread the word. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.:j0 -

Amount Reclaimed: £69
Amount refunded : £60
Sent first letter on 28 Feb, followed by letter before action - offer dated 20 March which I will accept, and it virtually clears my outstanding balance.
Moam
still waiting on 4 other claims - 3 of which now entered onto Moneyclaim.Although no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.... life is a WIP.
Snowball says too far away, working hard to bring it forward.0 -
Halifax
Amount claimed: £1,700.
Amount recieved: £1,700.
Their first offer was £900, which I rejected. I offered them the chance to settle without the interest element, which would have amounted to a settlement of about £1250, which they duly ignored. I then started proceedings against them through the brilliant MoneyClaim Online.
They then wrote and offered me "the full amount" (which actually wasn't because they got the figures wrong despite me having sent them three copies of the spreadsheet breakdown). I also rejected that, at which point they acknowledged the court claim.
With three days to go before the final deadline, they wrote and offered me the full amount including interest and court fees "without admission of liability". I have accepted.
Huge respect and thanks to Martin Lewis and others who have publicised this campaign. I suddenly feel as though I might just have a small degree of power in the face if these huge money-grabbing institutions! I'll be watching very carefully to see what their ploys are to recover their losses, though.0 -
Only mini victory.. but worth telling the story if it helps someone else.
£12 late fee + £50 debit interest
I have 1.9% balance transfer rate. But my payment arrived 4 days late. They charged me £12 AND charged me 15.9% debit interest on the whole month!!!
I rang them up. First bod refused to give £12 back. So I said, I've just successfully won a court claim against Natwest, dont make me take you to court for £12 cos I will. He put me on hold, came back, charge refunded! Thanks very much.
He then went on to explain how my interest rate had reverted back to 15.9% & I no longer qualify for promotional 1.9%. Not happy, asked to speak to manager. Put me thru to some department. Helpful lady agreed to 'on this occasion' put me back to 1.9% but the interest this month will stand.
Not happy! I said I have just argued to get £12 back & your going to sting me with an extra £60 interest. She agreed to refund half. I then threatened to pay off by balance & go elsewhere... put me on hold & came back agreeing to refund interest back to 1.9%!
Hooray Victory! :j0 -
After 3 months in dispute with Lloyds TSB, yesterday I received the AQ from court. This morning I have just received a letter from the solicitors of Lloyds saying that they are going to pay back ALL of the monies owed (over 5 grand!!).
I just cannot believe it. I want to thank all the people who gave me advice and more importantly encouragement to carry on. I must admit I wasn't pleased to be taking it to court, but it has been worth it. After all, it was my money in the first place, so if you are planning to take your bank to court and you are having second thoughts, just do it. As Martin says there is never any guarantee's but boy it is worth it in the end. Last of all (sounds a bit like the Oscars) I want to say a BIG THANK YOU to Martin, who without his words of wisdom I would never have thought of doing it. Regards to you all :T0 -
The Royal Bank of Scotland
Amount claimed £1077.00
Amount refunded £968.00
Recived their offer after sending out my first letter..i'm so delighted to be getting my money back :rotfl:0 -
just to let you all know i have successfully reclaimed £4000 from the bank of scotland. It took a while and alot of letters but the best thing i done was contact the financial ombudsman as when they got involved i got an offer within a week. I was reclaiming £4488, my offer was £3038 so i telephoned the person dealing with my claim at the bank and told him i was not happy with this figure that it would need to be nearer the £4000, he then said well "what would you be happy with?", and i said no less than £4000 and he agreed to pay this. I am to recieve the money in my account within 14 days.0

The story: I just sent the one letter and got a reply back within 10 days offering me all of my charges back, including 2 that i had not asked for because they came in after i had sent the letter, and as yet they have not closed my account. I give them top marks. Thanks Martin, now can you tell me the best way to sort out my £23k debt of credit cards and o/d's and also how i mend the damage done now that my wife has found out....if you can find a way to mend her heart i would happily pay interest for the rest of my life....
