Am claiming from Tesco credit card and have received a reply saying that they are not paying me nothing back as I agreed to their terms etc when I signed for the card. If they don't hear from me by 14th April they will close my file.

Also Capital One have offered me the difference between £20 and the £12.00 that they charge now for late payments. I claimed £300 and they will offer me £120.00.

Should I send them their letter saying I will start court proceedings. It's Tesco I am more bothered about.

  • Bank Natwest
    Amount £2250

Started with letter 1 in Jan (15th) received bank statements in tatty ripped envelopes. (it appears from the thread nearly everyone with NatWest has the pleasure of their postman reading their bank statements) Calculated monies owed along with interest. Sent off letter 2 - received letter saying they were looking into it. Heard nothing sent off letter 3 "pay up or else..." received letter saying that they dont except they have done anything wrong but under the circumstances.... offered full amount less interested. I said thanks and I am now saying thank you Martin et al.
If you havent tried it do it now !!
  • Bank: First Direct
    Amount claimed: £1575 + Interest
    Amount settled: £1340

1 letter was all it took, I am taking the view that as they agreed to settle within a week of receipt of my letter, plus the fact that I was not completely vigilant about my affairs, I'll settle for that amount. And I PROMISE to keep in credit from now on!! Credit Card torn up, loans will be paid off by July, renegotiated my Mortgage - I will be able to spend a few bob without feeling guilty.

Martin, where do you drink? I'll pop over some evening and buy you a pint or three.

Thanks again, couldn't have done it without you!

    Amount Repaid: 1352

Really easy to do. I just pulled off from my internet account a copy of all the letters they sent to me about notificatio of charges, I added them up. Sent off the standard first letter using the template from this website in January. They sent me a couple of letters saying they were still looking into it. Now have just sent me a letter offering the full amount. No need to go to court, just one letter.

Very happy. Everybody should go for it. Good Luck

Thanks Martin for your excellent website and service. It's the first time for us that the internet has been financially beneficial.
My partner successfully reclaimed bank charges.

She sent your first letter, and received offer (as gesture of goodwill) within 14 days. They wanted to pay direct into account, but account had been closed. She accepted offer using modified speedy settlement letter (asking for cheque payment within 14 days). This has been received.

    Thanks again, Martin.

So my experience was quite easy. Thanks to all who posted on here-without reading how easy a process it is I'm not sure I would have had the bottle to do it. I'm so glad I got justice.
