christheplumber wrote: »Hi guys. I'm in the process of claiming £1330 from Barclays. I have recieved a letter from them today (Tuesday) stating they are looking into my concerns and will let me have an answer or update as quickly as possible, but no later than 12 April.
The 2 week period given to them in the 1st request-money-letter would end on Friday. Do I accept their letter & wait until the 12th April or are they delaying me? Should I continue with letter #3 on Friday??
Thanks for any advice in advance.
chris
Do not wait for the bank, you'll be waiting for a long time!
Stick to all your timescales and carry on with the process.
When you say letter #3 do you mean the Letter Before Action (LBA)?

Hey,
I'm in the process of looking to reclaim late payment fees from GE Capital and also Ikano Financial services. Can anybody advise if I should be looking to reclaim the full amount for these, normally £15 per charge.
Also I had sent a request to HSBC for statements with a postal order back in January. I received no reply so resent the letter again special delivery about three weeks ago. I have not heard anything yet but realised this weekend gone, after reading some threads, that I could get all the details on line.
I posted a letter today, listing all charges, and requesting them to be repaid to me by 1st april or I would commence court proceedings. Would it be considered in court, if it goes that far, that I have not given the bank enough time to reply to my request if I register with MCOL on 02/04/07. This is bearing in mind I requested statements a while back but have no proof of my first post in Jan.?
Thanks.0 -

can anyone help me? am in the process of reclaiming my money from Barclays, just got my quarterly business charges stmt through, there is something on it called paid referral charge, this amounts to another £30 for each paid referral of which I have 10 on this stmt and 5 on the last quarterly stmt thats another £450 on top of all the £35s they have charged each time the sent back a dd. After a not so informative discussion with their call centre, it seems to me they are charging again on my quarterly business charges something they have already taken at the time of sending back dd's Am I right? and if so is this reclaimable by me.0

Hi
Firstly, ask for the full charge from GE and Ikano.
Secondly I would advise that you write a second letter to HSBC before commencing court proceedings. You must prove to the court that you have given HSBC plenty of time to settle your claim before starting proceedings. This will be from the time your first letter was received by them. The time elapsed since you requested your information has no bearing on your claim.
Hope this helps

Thanks Underground.
The late payment claims for Ikano Financial services relate to an Allders store card I previously held. I know that Allders had financial problems and closed stores, would this have any bearing on my dealings with Ikano?
I have an address for GE but I'm still looking for the Ikano one?
Thanks again :T :A0 -
I have just recieved a letter from Abbey to tell me that they would not refund the bank charges and that they are safisfied that the charges do not contravene the infair terms in consumer contracts regulations 1999. Where do I go from here. Do I go to step 4 and threaten to go to court or do I actually take them to court.
This is a little more complicated as my account was closed and I received a default and paid off the balance. I was wondering if I should be punished 3 times for going over my overdraft
1. bank charges.
2. closed account and payment demands.
3. default on my credit file.
Is this lawful, or is does this make my case any stronger or weaker.0
